☀️ Summer is officially here, and we’re making the most of it!

MN SNAP is attending outdoor community events to raise awareness and putting lots of miles on the mobile unit to provide accessible veterinary services for cats and dogs across Minnesota.

Whether it's splashing in a kiddie pool, chasing tennis balls, soaking up the sunshine, or finding the coolest spot in the house for a nap, every pet has a favorite summer activity.

🐾 Tell us: What does your cat or dog love to do during the summer?

Leave a comment or share a photo—we'd love to see how your furry family members are enjoying the season!

“Animal advocates are a passionate group, and I am proud to count myself among them. Having worked in animal welfare for decades before volunteering with MN SNAP, I know first hand the challenges of pet overpopulation. MN SNAP's work to spay and neuter pets and community animals is the vital first step in stopping pet overpopulation, suffering and even euthanasia in animal shelters. My time each week, my passion, and my donations all go to the front-line work being done at MN SNAP to support their mission. They are the most compassionate team I’ve worked with in 25 years. Will you join me in supporting MN SNAP's essential work to keep pets healthy and thriving?” ~ MN SNAP donor and volunteer, Breana (pictured with her dogs, Sulley and Ember)

More Pet Photos Please!

Our MN SNAP community shared some precious photos of furry loved ones earlier this month, and we can’t get enough of those sweet faces. Let’s do another round! We’ll start…

Meet Kelsey’s Crew: Administrative Manager, Kelsey, is the proud pet parent of Koko, Olive, and Vega. This crew keeps Kelsey and her kids on their toes, expecting many long walks and continuous petting.

Meet Christie’s Crew: Mr. Mayer Noodle (aka Little Monster) was found as a stray in Mayer, MN (hence the name) and adopted from The Bond Between by MN SNAP’s Clinic Director, Christie. He loves playing with cardboard boxes and sweetly stashing away socks from the laundry under the dark of night.

Our pets keep us endlessly entertained and loved, and they deserve the best of care, which is why MN SNAP makes high quality spay and neuter services accessible to families in Minnesota that need help keeping their pets happy and healthy.

Now let’s see your crew! Share photos in the comments of the special cats and dogs in your life.

For over a decade, MN SNAP has enjoyed partnership with Cause For Paws Minnesota, a volunteer-run organization that sponsors locations for MN SNAP’s mobile clinic and offers subsidized spay and neuter surgeries for cats in targeted areas.

Jodi Ehlenz, a Cause for Paws volunteer, shares a recent experience: “One cat owner brought in her five-year-old cat for spay surgery. This cat has had ten litters. She stated she simply was unable to afford the full cost of surgery.” Because MN SNAP's fees are lower, Cause for Paws funding goes further to help more cat owners. Jodi adds, “The owner paid $40 toward the surgery, and Cause for Paws paid the balance.”

Over the years, Cause for Paws has sponsored MN SNAP clinics for cats in Alexandria, Elbow Lake and for residents of St. Paul's East Side and St. Paul. Jodi adds, “For those with limited incomes, providing a lower cost option can make a difference between pursuing the procedure or not.”

This sustained partnership has helped hundreds of cats over the years that otherwise might have had hundreds of unwanted litters. Thanks for your partnership and hard work, Cause for Paws! 😻

When someone brings their pet to MN SNAP for accessible veterinary care, they’re entrusting us with an important part of their family. ❤️

The MN SNAP staff understands how you feel. We too have furry family members that excitedly greet us when we get home after work with wagging tails and happy purrs.

If you’ve visited our mobile clinic before, you may have met Jessy. She’s the mobile team lead and anesthesia technician, and she’s accustomed to having her hands full with 3 cats and 1 silly-fast turtle at home.

Meet Fergie, Harvey, Ricky, and Silly T!

• Jessy’s partner found Fergie injured at his workplace, and they decided to keep her as they nursed her back to health.
• Jessy has had Harvey the longest of all the cats, born in 2009 as a kitten of the neighborhood’s stray cat.
• Ricky was boarding at an animal rescue when Jessy met him as an MN SNAP patient and promptly decided to adopt him. As Jessy describes it, “It was love at first sight!”
• And Silly T., the turtle that is silly fast, has been with Jessy for nearly 30 years, ever since her childhood dogs brought him up from the lake when she was 4 years old.

Who are the cats and dogs that you call family? We’d love to meet them; share photos in the comments below!🐾

🐾 Every month, pets and families count on MN SNAP for veterinary care they can trust and afford.

Each year, we help thousands of pets access essential veterinary care like spay neuter surgeries and vaccinations. On any given day, our clinic in north Minneapolis is performing over 30 surgical procedures to keep pets healthy while our mobile team is doing the same out in greater Minnesota.

Monthly donors make this possible.

When MN SNAP can count on recurring gifts, we can confidently plan ahead, reach more families, and provide reliable veterinary care throughout the year.

Will you join our community of monthly supporters? Whether it's $5, $15 (to celebrate MN SNAP’s 15 years of impact), or any amount that works for you, your dependable gift helps MN SNAP continue to show up day in and day out for Minnesota’s pets and the people who care for them. ❤️

Yoo hoo! 🔎👀 Why is microchipping important? When your pet gets loose, it’s a permanent means of identification. Just make sure that your address 🏡 and contact info 📞 are correct both on your pet’s collar and with your microchip provider!

Last year, MNSNAP got 3,451 pets microchipped. That’s 3,451 minds at ease! 😌

In 2025, our mobile unit provided 5,956 surgeries—more than one third of total surgeries last year! 😲

By taking our services on the road, we can deliver needed support to communities all across Minnesota.
