🌱 Invited Speaker Introduction | Development Track
Advanced computing is evolving rapidly, but are we preparing the workforce needed to support it?
We're excited to welcome Michael D. Weiner, Senior Research Scientist and Lead Research Computing Facilitator at Georgia Institute of Technology's Partnership for an Advanced Computing Environment (PACE), as our invited speaker for the PEARC26 Workforce Development Session.
Michael is a Senior Research Scientist and the Lead Research Computing Facilitator at Georgia Tech’s PACE, where he works with researchers and educators to enable their use of advanced computing, including for courses on Georgia Tech’s instructional cluster and AI Makerspace. Michael is past Chair (2023-2025) of Campus Champions and current Co-Chair of CaRCC's Workforce Development Interest Group. He is co-PI of an NSF NAIRR grant to support AI research facilitation workforce development through the Campus Champions.

We're excited to welcome Daniel S. Katz, Chief Scientist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications - NCSA and Research Professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as our invited speaker for the PEARC26 RSE Session.
Dan is 's Chief Scientist and a Research Professor in Computing and Data Science, and in Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He works on issues at the triple point of research software, people, and policies.

What happens when agents become collaborators in ?
We're excited to welcome Vanessa Sochat, Principal Computer Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, as our invited speaker for the PEARC26 System Session.
Vanessa is a Principal Computer Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and has been a software engineer for seventeen years. Her work focuses on container technologies, HPC, and cloud convergence. She works on the Flux Framework and collaborates closely with industry and open source communities, leading work and initiatives to innovate in the space. She received her Ph.D in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford University, and her B.A. from Duke University.

📣 Call for Volunteers: Student Program Résumé & Career Development Workshop
The PEARC26 Student Program is seeking volunteers to assist with the Résumé & Career Development Workshop on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 9:30–10:30 AM.
This interactive session helps students strengthen their résumés, refine their professional materials, and build confidence as they prepare for internships, jobs, graduate school, and other career opportunities. Volunteers will review résumés, provide constructive feedback, and engage directly with students.
This is a great opportunity to support and mentor the next generation of Research Computing and Data ( ) professionals.
