I love watching the
Noise now. It’s like the feeling of water over my body as I dive into that pristine lake. You can’t see tears in water. The motion soothes you. Divers get it, meditators get it, heck anyone who loves long deep breaths gets it… this is how I live now in the noise. It’s all just water over my body. I’m on Onewheel, my
Baileys and coffee and sitting on the city bench where I’ve shot a hundred couples. The moment I write it, a photographer is leading a high school senior down here for the money shot. Touch your hair. Perfect. I can’t not smile.

I’m
Harnessing energy now. It feels weird. I always gave it away. It’s bursting out of me anyway and I can’t get it out fast enough. The elders just started talking to me. I scooted over to make room on the bench. I tell myself I’m not leaving. I just won’t be around as much. I have some unfinished business in Seattle. That European thing is more intriguing. I should train for Kilimanjaro, right? It’s been 20 years of kickball and I loved kickball but... I like a lot things. My likes expand rather than contract. It helps you be adventurous and exciting and creative and then I’m sure everything tastes better and love feels even more powerful.

My guru tells me I’m a
Baby bird. Exciting for me it seems. I guess I’ll be jumping out of the nest here soon. I look at my calendar. I’m told I’ve never had a day off. Perhaps it’s because I feel all the days are meant to be on. I fly out at 8pm. Get into Monterey. Crack a Steinbeck novel before bed. I get in the right mood. Morning coffee and I pick up two gorgeous women at their hotel. We pack my car and drive into the fire.

I don’t recall if I
Breathed or not, but I remember Sigur Ros singing something as the sun set and we flew high. After sunset, I drop them off. The day was like a love adventure. If there were tickets to sell they’d sell out. 3 hours to airport. I am faster than them all. Catch the red eye SFO - MSP back. 24 hours in Big Sur. I remember life is about where my two feet are. 👣🌊

Nicole + Felicia wedding dress. Polo match for cocktail hour. Metal horse figurines as the seating chart. Custom hats for the wedding party. Tango routine by the bride and groom. 🐎

But what made this one good wasn’t any one detail. It was how much was happening around all of it - champagne flying, people laughing, kids doing their own thing, and a dance floor that kept giving us something to photograph.

That’s what we want a gallery to hold onto. Not just what the wedding looked like, but all the personality that came with it.
