Curiosity Studio has the best partners. For the past four years we have built relationship with our friends at Martin Luther Care; creating meaningful art making opportunities for their residents and community members. They’ve supported our facilitation and trusted that even when a product isn’t created, connection is made. Enabling new forms of socializing and play are invaluable!

📣Thursday June 11th! Remembering through Relief with !

This pride, create hand-printed relief prints that honor our histories and celebrate our present existence. Participants will print multiple impressions of a relief block by hand.

Is there truly anything better than making a piñata with all of your friends? Breaking it, I suppose!

We can’t wait to be making a mess again at Super Sanford summer camps. Only a few spots left at Piñatas and Paper Mache for grades 1st-2nd held July 6-9th. We’ve linked the sign up for you above!

Scotch darning! Coming up on June 4th!

What is scotch darning? One of many methods of repair, scotch darning really shines when your knitwear has large holes or needs a little extra strength (heels! elbows!). Join Lauren for this bonus darning stitch that you will be happy to have in your toolbox! She thinks sock darning as an excellent summer craft: easy to bike to the park/beach with minimal supplies needed.

While Darning 101 isn’t a requirement, come ready to dive into darning full force. Community funds available.

Don’t miss the last two Open Studio’s of the season before this program takes a summer break!

- This Thursday (5.21)! BIPOC Open Studio with Theme: Love. Naming and drawing attention to the ideas, rituals, people or things you love can ground us in moments when it may feel absent. We will sculpt mementos of appreciation that can be physically held close and use as visual reminders of the care and devotion we feel.
- Next Thursday (5.28)! Join Lauren for general Open Studio to explore the theme of stories. Drawing inspiration from Lucille Clifton’s poem by the same name, we will consider the layers - seen and unseen - that can influence our stories and art.

Welcome to the Curiosity Lab, where we transform everyday objects into new and exciting creations!

Ages 6-12 can join us on their day off of school, May 26th for this sliding scale offering. We will take inventory of all of the possible ways to create with a humble object you might find around your home: the cardboard tube.

As a reminder, students from past repair and rug braiding classes are welcome to come during this time with any questions they may have run into since they took their class. Open Studio offers two uninterrupted hours of art making to you in an intentional space. Meet new people, enjoy the process and learn new things about yourself! There is no cost, register above!

Celebrate the best day of the year- the return of ! Join Curiosity Studio for a mask-making workshop to kick off the season. Perhaps you want to be a flower, rabbit, skunk or potato- skies the limit!

Once you’ve made your mask, you can join for a parade! With musical accompaniment, of course. 🌸

Mask-making and parade happening between 11:15-12:30. Excited to see all of our market friends and each of you!
