Join us in recognizing Rajiv! An innovative thinker with an impressive career in engineering, his passion for product and software development goes back 25+ years. More recently, he's used his expertise to teach professional education at UCSC Silicon Valley before joining Math Corps as a tutor!
Rajiv became a tutor to ignite a passion for problem-solving in local students in California. "I would like to motivate and encourage students early into innovation and opportunities for the future in math and science," he says.
We are so grateful that you are using your skills and passion to help students discover all that they're capable of, Rajiv! We look forward to seeing you back for the 2026-27 school year!

Red Apple Elementary sits a few blocks from the shores of Lake Michigan in Racine, Wisconsin. An integral part of our district-wide partnership with Racine Unified School District, the school prioritizes hands-on instruction in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. This mission is strengthened through Reading Corps and Math Corps high-impact tutoring programs, which help children achieve grade-level proficiency so that they can continue to thrive in the years ahead.
Since 2022, Reading Tutors have led over 16,000 tutoring sessions at Red Apple Elementary, with 105 students exceeding target growth in literacy. The addition of K-3 Math Corps in 2024 has helped more than 50 students transform into confident, critical thinkers in math through 1,550 tutoring sessions!
Our gratitude goes out to Red Apple Elementary tutors, who have helped countless students see themselves as capable, curious learners. We're excited to welcome incoming tutors to the school community this fall, including third-year Reading Tutor Jean, who is such a positive role model to the young readers she serves. Another special thanks to Principal Scott Campbell and his Red Apple team for continuing this important investment in children's futures!

Sometimes the most effective support comes from a tutor who has faced a similar hurdle to the students they serve. For Emily, becoming a Math Tutor was a way to relate to students who were hesitant in their math abilities — just like she once was. By providing a welcoming environment, she has shown students that they can grow into strong, capable math scholars.
You too can help more students recognize their strengths and build their math skills! Visit Join.ReadingandMath.org to learn how you can support students in your community.

Although working in a classroom setting this past school year was new to Ciera, she has always been one to lend her time and support to her community in Decatur, Georgia.
"Helping kids excel in education is one of the most important things to build a better future," Ciera emphasizes. One moment that stands out from her work with K-3 students is when a student told her that she made math more fun and understandable to her.
Ciera will return for the 2026-27 school year, helping more Georgia students achieve confidence and a love for math. Thank you for taking part in this important work, Ciera!

Creekside Elementary students are making tremendous gains through Reading Corps and Math Corps' individualized tutoring support. Looking back on the 2025-26 school year, we would like to thank Reading Tutors Keith and Bianca for setting local kids up to be strong readers and learners. We extend this same gratitude to Math Tutors Moises and Neftaly — your support is helping students maximize their future opportunities.
