What's your way to get outside in Minneapolis?

Instead of another post about why accessibility matters (you already know why), we're sharing something practical: the free accessibility tools our team actually uses.

Over the years, building accessible websites and, in turn, building Insi has taught us where the real hang-ups are. Many of the tools in this resource grew out of the frustrations we kept running into on client projects.

Some of this kit includes AI-powered tools, but we insist that accessibility is, and always will be, about people. AI may speed up routine tasks, but human testing is always the final word.

We're honored to highlight our work with Dream of Wild Health, an Indigenous-led nonprofit reconnecting Native communities to traditional foods, medicines, and lifeways. 🌱

For more than 25 years, Dream of Wild Health has served the Twin Cities Native community through youth programs, the Indigenous Food Share, and community outreach — reaching more than 12,000 people each year.

Through ArcStone's Unleash the Good™️ Grant, we partnered with their team to create a new accessible WordPress website that better communicates the depth of their work and makes it easier for people to engage with programs, events, and resources.

Together, we streamlined content, improved navigation, and created pathways for youth, families, partners, and donors, all while honoring their values and history. The result is a mobile-friendly, WCAG-compliant website designed to support their mission for years to come.

What’s a memory that instantly takes you back to those glorious “school’s out for summer” days? ✨

"On the last day of school, our bus driver, Ted, who always called me Blondie, would celebrate with what felt like the greatest adventure imaginable.

Instead of following the normal route, Ted would drive the route backward, heading out into the country before dropping off the town kids. Along the way, he’d pull the big yellow school bus into the Dairy Queen parking lot and announce that everyone could get a treat, anything that cost a quarter or less."

What's a song that reminds you of your mom? ✨

My mom mostly listened to classical music, more of a Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings type of woman, but she also had a soft spot for a little John Denver. Every time we went to Cicero’s, she’d say, “Lisa and Leslie —” always together as a pair — “go ask him to play ‘Sunshine on My Shoulders.’”

What’s making life feel good in small ways right now? ✨

"I’ve also been soaking up walks through Loring Park. It’s one of my favorite parks in Minneapolis—the perfect urban park. Last Sunday, I wandered through with a giant coffee in hand while the flowers were just beginning to bloom. People were playing tennis, little kids and parents filled the playground, and the church bells rang in the distance. It all felt wonderfully poetic."

We’re excited to highlight our work with FastTrackerMN (Fasttrackermn), a statewide tool helping Minnesotans find support for mental health, substance use, and recovery when it matters most 💙

What started in 2012 as a small project has grown into a (free!) critical resource used across the state. Behind it is a small team doing big work to make care more accessible, reduce barriers and connect people to real-time openings.

As their reach grew, FastTrackerMN's website needed to be easier to manage and built for their future. We partnered with them to rebuild the platform on WordPress, cleaning up a complicated backend, and improving performance. The rebuild made it simple for their team to update content, manage providers, and refine search without needing a developer.

The result? A faster, more flexible site that supports their mission and helps more people find the care they need.

We're grateful to play a small role in something that makes a real difference 🤝

What’s a place you once spent a lot of time in that still feels instantly familiar when you return? What makes it stick with you? ✨

"If you’ve never been, the space itself leaves an impression, black and white, dimly lit, and moody. Twin staircases curve up along either side of the room, leading to a second bar above. Even just resting your hand on the wrought iron railing can transport you. For me, it brings back a flood of memories of shows that felt electric and formative, from Todd Rundgren to Hüsker Dü."
