🎂 Code Savvy turns 13 today!

This year, we got to do what we love most: putting computer science in the hands of Minnesota youth and educators — for free.

A few highlights from the last 12 months:
💻 Code Explorers — ongoing sessions introducing kids to the joy of coding
🤖 Innovate For Good: AI Builders Day — a day of hands-on coding and AI exploration last June
👩‍💻 Technovation Girls Minnesota — empowering girls to build tech solutions for real-world problems
📚 Professional Development for Educators — equipping teachers with the tools to bring CS into their classrooms

Join Code Savvy on August 15 for a FREE, in-person Code Explorers session in St. Paul. Students ages 8–18 will explore Scratch, Python, web development, micro:bits, and more — all with supportive mentors by their side. No experience needed, just curiosity!

"I've thought about mentoring for Technovation Girls Minnesota, but I'm not really a tech person."

We hear this all the time, and here's the truth: you don't need to be a coding or tech expert to be an amazing mentor for a Technovation Girls Minnesota team. What girls need most is someone who believes in them, asks good questions, and shows up.

Technovation Girls Minnesota gives girls ages 8-18 the chance to build real apps and business plans, and walk away seeing themselves as technologists and leaders. If you're passionate about getting more girls into tech and want to help make that happen, we want to meet you! And if you're a parent with a daughter who might be a great fit for the program, come learn more too!

Code Savvy is throwing our Open House on Thursday, September 24 at Urban Growler in St. Paul, and we want YOU there! Come celebrate with us, meet the people behind our programs, and find out how you can get involved.

Since 2013, Code Savvy has been opening doors to computer science for young people across Minnesota, and none of that happens without our mentors and volunteers. This night is our way of saying thank you and welcoming new friends into the community.
