Joann Hopkins provides information on how to flatter your figure type through "illusion dressing."
It is with deep sadness that I must announce the passing of The Makeoverguy, Christopher Hopkins, my son. His loving, compassionate heart, after a year of heart issues, failed him on the eve of November 22.
The void left in the lives of his husband Robert, mother Joann, sister Michelle, other family, and many friends will never be filled.
Rest In Peace, Dear Christopher.
HAPPY FALL EVERYONE!
My favorite time of year. I wonder if that happens because I was born in September?
I'm sorry I have been away for awhile. Busy! Called life!
What I know is that I love the fall clothes and the crisp weather. I wonder if, at my age, I like to cover things up with turtle necks, long pants and dusters!?
I love nature and the gorgeous fall colors but unfortunately they are not in my color palette. When I had very dark hair I tried to wear them and could sneak by but still not good. Now with gray hair they are BAD!
It's important to note that just because you like a color doesn't mean it likes you! Knowing what colors are good for You is important. The tone of your skin, eye color and natural hair color all play a part in selecting your color palette.
Many times a person is complimented on a color just because it's more color than she usually wears, not that it is great for her.
Remember Color reflects both personality and mood. That holds true both in what you wear and your home.
The 'Color Me Beautiful' days are more involved now but still remembering the seasons are cool or warm undertones in color can help. In case you have forgotten.....
Winter and Summer are cool or blue undertones and Fall and Spring are warm or yellow undertones. Our Makeoverguy makeovers include color analysis.
Think about the colors you are looking at now and then. Determine if they are warm or cool. Is it a winter cherry red or a fall orange red. You can do it!!

This is Christopher and yes, I have always loved shopping for my mother because she can wear it even with six joint replacements.

Blessings to you all for a wonderful 2025! Christopher "finessed" the card, of course.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all my friends and family!
I hope you are all ready...shopping, cookie and candy making all done!
I'm sure most of you have your own traditions for the Holidays. I would love to hear about them. My children are grown and now have new traditions and hopefully some of our old ones.
When I was a child we always went to the Christmas Eve service at church after which brown paper bags of candy were handed out to all the kids. { Usually that hard ribbon candy which nobody liked! } an apple and in the shell nuts! When we got home we always read the Christmas Story. This to remind us what Christmas was all about.
Then we were sent to the bedroom where we waited breathlessly for Santa to arrive to deliver gifts. We would huddle in the bedroom anxiously waiting to hear the reindeer on the roof or the bells on their harness. Then when all was quiet we would run to see what was under the tree!
While the wrapping and ribbon was flying Mother brought the candy, cookies and popcorn balls out from her special hiding places. She had to hide them or they would disappear long before Christmas Eve!
One of my favorite places was the clothespin bag hanging in the stairway.
Christmas Day we would go to an Aunts house for a wonderful turkey dinner! It was quite a houseful with Aunts, Uncles and their children. Usually around thirty plus. Wonderful memories!!
I think it's important to remember those who are alone. A plate of cookies, a phone call, a visit or include them in your festivities.
After all the Christmas Spirit isn't all about gifts but is ours to share.
I wish you all a Happy Holiday Season and please share some of your traditions or memories!
Love, Joann/ The Wardrobe Woman
Wishing all my friends and family Blessings for a wonderful, Happy Thanksgiving!

Christopher bought me this scarf over 25 years ago. It's good to keep some things. You never know when they might come in handy!
