ActiveGut Study
The purpose of this study is to examine how walking may influence the bacteria living in the gut of people with prediabetes.
Researchers from the University of Minnesota are recruiting adults in the Twin Cities metro area to participate in this study.
We're still actively recruiting folks at risk for developing diabetes (aka prediabetes) who are relatively sedentary to take part in this study!! Please share this page on your social media to help us spread the word!
The diagnosis of "at risk for developing diabetes/prediabetes" is generally when someone either:
- has an HbA1c between 5.7-6.4%,
- has a fasting blood glucose within 100-125 mg/dl
- has oral glucose tolerance test results of 140-199 mg/dl
Do you (maybe) have Pre-Diabetes?
If YES (or think maybe yes), and:
--You are 30—64 years of age,
--Not currently physically active, and
--Own a smartphone
You may be eligible to take part in a University of Minnesota study examining the impact of moderate (i.e. walking) exercise on the gut microbiome!
