The city of Minneapolis is currently working on re-zoning efforts and has asked residents to weigh in. As it stands right now, there are parts of the zoning guidelines that hinder the construction of ADUs in backyards across the city. By submitting this suggested edit to the zoning laws, we can make ADUs possible. YOU can make a difference!

And Copy and Paste this verbiage as your answer to question #1.
“Please exclude ADUs from the maximum area for Accessory Structures in Sections 545.330 and Section 550, Article IX. It is important to make adding an ADU an option for more people, and to make the process easier.”

Let's talk more Minnesota housing facts. In the 16 counties in and around the Twin Cities metro area, the months-supply of homes selling for $250,000 or less is only one month, whereas a healthy supply is about five months. The supply of affordable housing in Minnesota isn't cutting it.
