Exciting news — Early Learning Corps is launching in Mississippi this fall, and Vicksburg Head Start is one of our first partners in the state! We are thrilled to work together in getting our youngest learners ready for kindergarten. With evidence-based strategies that have already helped more than 136,000 early learners build foundational skills across the country, we can't wait to hit the ground running in the great state of Mississippi!
Thank you to the Delta Health Alliance, a champion of students in Mississippi who helped make this partnership possible. We are looking forward to working with the Vicksburg Head Start team, including Director TaMeka Ross and VP of Early Education Leigh-Anne Gant. And our warmest welcomes to incoming Early Learning Tutors Carolyn and Lakita — thank you for your commitment to serving students in your community!

The difference in a child's abilities before Early Learning Corps tutoring versus after is like night and day — just ask Alondra, a fourth-year tutor in Florida! By providing targeted practice through activities like play, song, and conversation, she encourages learners and helps them get ready to take on kindergarten.

On this , we'd like to introduce you to Alondra! From the moment she got her first job at age 15, she has always found pride in supporting, teaching, and encouraging young children through her work. She joined Early Learning Corps to continue her journey in the classroom!
This past school year, Alondra served at an elementary school in Miami, where she helped students challenge themselves to be better learners. She realized she was making a difference once she overheard students reminding each other of the strategies that she had previously worked with them on.
Thank you for helping our youngest learners build strong foundations before kindergarten, Alondra! We look forward to watching you expand your impact in this next school year!

Our 10+ year-long partnership with Discovery Community School became even stronger when we introduced Early Learning Corps in the fall of 2025! Together with the school community, Early Learning Tutors help empower students to be confident learners who are ready for kindergarten. By exposing early learners to literacy and numeracy-building activities, we're igniting a future of success later in school and beyond!
We're thankful for the Discovery Community School staff, including Principal Lindsey Nagorski and Barika Kevis, Director of Early Childhood, for helping us invest in positive student outcomes by reaching children in the earliest years of their schooling. Shoutout to Early Learning Tutor Marianne for helping students build their skills this past school year — we can't wait to see you back for another year of impact in a few short weeks!

For this week's , we're celebrating Bonnie, an Early Learning Tutor whose love of reading began long before she stepped into a classroom. Growing up, Bonnie spent countless hours listening to stories with her mom and exploring books at her local library.
Bonnie hopes to bring this same curiosity to her students through Early Learning Corps, where she will return for her fourth year of service this fall! "The most gratifying thing to witness is when they start recognizing letters on things other than their flashcards and tell me what they are," she shares.
One of the highlights of her year was watching her students graduate from preschool and go on to Kindergarten, a milestone she is excited to help more kids achieve in this next school year. Thank you for all you do for students in your community, Bonnie!
