We are crushed to hear about the passing of one of Madison most influential powerhouses. Our prayers and thoughts are with Michael Johnson's family, colleagues, close friends and everybody whose lives he touched in some way.
Michael Johnson made it possible for us and so many other non profit organizations to be able to give back to the community. We had the pleasure of sitting before him as he shared words of wisdom and fed us during his DOVE initiative giveaway as we helped to distribute.

We know that tomorrow is not promised us so let us continue to pray for and wrap our arms around our community leaders. The burden they carry is heavy. At this time, it's a little heavier.

Looking from what we have been following, there are huge shoes to be filled.

May God accept Michael in his loving arms and hold his family closer.

Meet your Black Girl Magic 2026 Session Leader, Shirmiel Duncan!

After 7½ years as a commercial child care business owner, Shirmiel has expanded her expertise in training, mentoring, community outreach, and forming small business partnerships.

She is passionate about helping rebuild the child care industry by raising awareness amongst the next generation of young women, and we cannot wait to have her at the conference!

We had a very wonderful time volunteering at this years Brat Fest! We met so many wonderful people, and worked to serve the people alongside many other wonderful organizations!
(We had 2 volunteers missing that were not in this group photo- hopefully we can get them added later)

We hope we can do it again next year 2027!
