What has been the best part about wedding planning?
- "It has been so much fun including both of our families in on our plans and decisions and making sure it’s a day that we both imagined. We have really loved getting to know each other better through this planning process as well. With all of our plans getting derailed because of Covid it has been fun to plan another wedding. I love how our story played out because we got married with our family and it was very intimate and now we get to have a vow renewal and reception with our friends and family."

"He was very adamant about taking me to Pets Park after the gym. Once we got there, I wanted to go deep into the trail like we did a month or two prior. He did not want to go so far in, but I kept pushing to go in; however, it had rained for two days straight prior and the path was blocked with high water. So, we had to turn around and “go the other way”. As we went back, he wanted to cross through this clearing. When we got to the clearing, he paused and started playing with his pockets. I asked what he was doing and he said “looking for something”. I thought how could he lose something out here after ten minutes. He pulled something out of his pocket and asked me to hold it. It was the ring. And the rest is history."

"So being the nosey person I am, I knew that he asked my dad to marry me in December. Every weekend in January, I thought it would be the day. However, it did not happen then, and one of both of us was going to be traveling every weekend in February. The weekend of February 8 & 9, we were supposed to go to Asheville with some friends. However, they cancelled last minute due to work but asked if we still wanted to get lunch on Saturday. Of course that was fine, and it was conveniently in the same part of town as our favorite bridge. We got to lunch a few minutes early and they were running late, so we stopped at the bridge. Chris kept talking about how many memories we had made on this bridge and Chicago and how many memories we were going to make there (I took a job in Chicago literally that week), which I thought was funny! Then he proposed, and I completely blacked out on everything he said. Luckily, his best friend was there capturing it all with a drone! He also had some of our friends who are photographers there to capture the moment. Afterwards, my first reaction was that I needed to call my mom, but he said that we should go sit down at lunch and then we can call. We headed down to the basement of one of our favorite spots, just to have both of our families already waiting there to surprise me! After lunch, we headed back to my house to tell my longtime best friend/roommate and get a game plan for the rest of the day. I walk in to find so many of our closest friends there for an engagement party. Chris even had my college roommates fly in for the occasion. He really made it the sweetest day by including so many important people & locations!!"

"Ryan tried designing me a ‘smart mirror’ for my christmas present several years ago but never was able to finish it, and it had always been a running joke between the two of us. On an afternoon in May the night before our planned trip to Seattle, Ryan proposed to me by revealing the finished smart mirror and when he plugged it in and turned it on, it displayed the question "Will you marry me?”. And I happily said YES!!"
