With the highly anticipated new Honda Prelude on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to look back at the history and legacy Mugen has with this iconic nameplate.

Long before today’s announcement, Mugen was at the forefront of the Prelude’s heritage, creating some of the most sought-after builds of their era. One of the most legendary was the Mugen Prelude Spec. II, a complete parts catalog that transformed the car from a sophisticated coupe into a true performance machine.

The Mugen Spec. II was a masterclass in comprehensive tuning:

Exterior:
The kit offered a full aero line body kit, featuring a functional front bumper spoiler, streamlined side steps, door panels, a rear bumper spoiler, and an air spoiler to complete the aggressive, yet clean, look.

Performance & Handling:
For the perfect balance of sound and power, Mugen provided their renowned Exhaust Manifold and Sports Muffler Kit. To give the car a proper stance and improved handling, the catalog included Mugen Integrate Shock Absorbers.

Wheels:
To finish the build, owners could choose between two iconic Mugen wheel designs: the highly-functional, directional CF-48s and the timeless, classic MR-5s.

The Mugen Prelude Spec. II wasn’t just a collection of parts; it was a vision. It showcased Mugen’s commitment to creating a complete package that enhanced every aspect of the vehicle.
