UWM Student Film Fest 2026 at Arts Lecture Hall

The Student Film Fest 2026, hosted by UWM students from the Peck School of the Arts (PSOA) film course Zen and the Art of Filmmaking, will take place on May 12 at 7 p.m. in the UWM Arts Lecture Hall.

“It’s designed to be as social as it is cinematic. The festival offers a chance to connect with emerging filmmakers, support creative work and experience a fresh take on indie film culture,” UWM student and filmmakers Jonathan Kasten said.

Attendees can expect a night of genre-bending films filled with shadowy deals, bloody drama, and inventive storytelling.

Canvas Down Internationally As Hackers Threaten Data Leaks

Educational site Canvas has been disabled as part of a national security breach. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee warned students not to interact with the platform until the matter is resolved.

“We do have an exam tonight, and now we can’t pull up the study guide material that they gave us,” UWM student Finley Kunz said of how the breach impacted him.
