Join us for the Green & Healthy Schools Cohort 8 Celebration on Thursday, October 8 from 4:30–6:30 PM at Cass Street Schoolyard/Park, 1620 N. Cass St., Milwaukee!

We’re celebrating five newly transformed schoolyards and more than $8.3 million in investment, bringing the Green & Healthy Schools initiative to 42 transformed MPS schoolyards.

The celebration will include activities for all ages, project displays and schoolyard tours, remarks and a ribbon cutting, and a chance to celebrate the many partners who made this work possible.

Come celebrate the continued transformation of Milwaukee’s schoolyards and the people making this work happen!

Reflo is back for Doors Open Milwaukee! Our office will be open to the public on Saturday, September 26 from 10am–3pm.

Stop by the Outdoor Discovery Cart to learn and play with the handcrafted cart designed and constructed in partnership with Reflo and Milwaukee Public Schools High School interns to promote outdoor learning.

Then, step inside the “vault” and experience the Virtual Water Table. Use Augmented Reality to see how water flows across a hands-on sandbox, play the Waterscape Game to shape Milwaukee’s water future, or interact with the Milwaukee Community Map to discover how the city became a “water-centric” city.

Doors Open Milwaukee is FREE and opens more than 150 locations across the city on September 26–27. Don’t miss your chance to stop by Reflo and explore other amazing Milwaukee locales!

Last week, Reflo welcomed youth from across southeastern Wisconsin for the Green Transformation & Infrastructure Water Journey! 💧🌱

Youth participants explored how green infrastructure is transforming schoolyards and communities with visits to Cass Street School, where construction is currently underway, Gaenslen School, a completed Green & Healthy Schoolyard, and Green Tech Station.

Along the way, they connected with professionals in engineering, construction, landscape architecture, and project management while learning how these projects improve water quality, build climate resilience, and create healthier spaces for students and neighborhoods.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a day of hands-on learning and exploration, our Environmental Youth Collaborative partners who attended, and to Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District - MMSD for supporting these opportunities to inspire the next generation of environmental leaders!
