I have three more days with my “first class” after 10 years raising my own tribe. Just thinking about having to say goodbye to them on Friday makes me tear up. These kids made my transition back into the classroom a breeze. My heart is so full thinking of how much they’ve grown since September. I’m not ready to give them up 🥹

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted on here, but boy has it been such an incredible year! If you don’t know, I went back into the classroom after 10 years of being at home with my own kiddos. I was hesitant to go back, but between my lovable students and the ultimate team, it has been an easier transition back than I thought.
Lately, I have realized how much I miss this creative outlet, so I’ve been finding ways to keep plugging away, even if it’s at a slower and less frequent pace.
For now, this embroidered sweatshirt with my son’s team and number on it are giving me so much joy. ❤️

The Face Behind Back Pocket Creations
Hi! My name is Megan and I am the maker behind Back Pocket Creations (BPC). I have always had a love for creativity, and have tried my fair share of DIY projects.
Prior to kids, I was a third grade teacher. I loved being a teacher! I was able to let my creative juices flow while opening my student’s brains. I had so much fun setting up my classroom and creating lesson plans that enhanced our daily learning goals.
On June 25, 2012 I became a mom and I couldn’t have been happier. More than anything, I wanted to stay home so I wouldn’t miss a moment with my active little boy. It was such a joy watching him grow on a daily basis. However, I realized I no longer had the strong outlet I so desired for creativity.
I started out small with focusing on fun crafts and activities I could do at home with my growing baby. These were great activities for us to bond and learn together. These activities led to my Christmas Countdown Ornament kit I put together for my son’s second Christmas. So many of my friends commented what a neat idea this was, and how I should put kits together to sell. This led to the creation of Back Pocket Creations.
