Walnut Way Conservation Corp. (Walnut Way) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit neighborhood organization founded by residents in 2000.
The center is located at 2240 N 17th Street in a carefully renovated, formally infamous drug house. Understanding the importance of valuing place, residents restored this 1910 house, slated for demolition into an active Center where youth, families, elders, homeowners and renters participate in community development.

Harvest Day - But make it Harvest The Sun !
This year of Celebration , we are embracing our acquirement of solar panels through our MIRACLE project, a learn about our vision to bring 50 megawatts of community-owned clean energy to the neighborhood!
There will be kid/family oriented fun , food and drink, vendors, entertainment and so much more !

We Energies asked to raise electric rates. If it goes through, a typical home pays about $22 more a month by 2028.
Power was shut off about 63,000 times in We Energies territory in 2024. 35,111 of those were in Milwaukee ZIP codes. About 2,100 in 53206 alone.
The record closes Friday. After that the commission decides on what's in it, and nothing can be added.
