Style Machine is pleased to announce our official opening this October!

On Friday, October 2nd we launch our Smoke & Mirrors live music and DJ series with a Downtempo Night presented by xDOMINIONx and Dance Commandr from 8pm-midnight. Check out the 4-color risograph flyer for this event on the second slide of this post. Come try a selection of house-made craft beverages at our apothecary bar and vibe out to some slow beats on the first Friday in October!

The rest of October features the launching of three other programs — Cinema 514, Fortune House Divinations, and Friday 'Fit Check. The closing reception for the Museum of Ambiguous Objects is this Saturday 8/29 from 5-9pm. In addition to the multimedia exhibits, the event features a 7pm special ensemble performance incorporating ideas submitted by the public during Center Street Daze. The performance ensemble stars Zelda Harlaquinn as the Home Schlocking Network’s Consumer Product Tester and Anja Notanja as Senior Copy Writer for the Home Schlocking Network. In support are Schlocktet member, Neil Horsky, on percussion, accompanied by Anton Sieger on electric guitar. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to bear witness as your ideas come alive and sparkle between us all.

If you missed it entirely, or if you just can’t get enough SCHLOCK, Style Machine is hosting a closing reception for the Museum on Saturday, August 29th from 5pm to 9pm (see flyer on final slide).

In addition to the ambiguous objects exhibits, the bar and the gift shop, the reception features a new special performance at 7pm, incorporating ideas contributed by the public during the festival. Come get weird with us again on August 29th!

New news! The upcoming Museum of Ambiguous Objects exhibition at Style Machine during the Center Street Daze festival will now be hosting the official premiere of a music video, Make a Place For Them, a song by the Milwaukee band, Resurrectionists.

The video was produced at Style Machine and features four spectacular ambiguous objects from the Museum collection.

Screenings of Make a Place For Them will occur twice during the festival, at 2pm and 5pm, and will include a Q&A with Resurrectionists frontman, Joe Cannon and filmmaker, Neil Horsky.

Center Street Daze festival runs from 11am to 7pm on Saturday, August 15th along Center Street between Humboldt Blvd and Holton St in Riverwest. Hope to see you there!
