Taking place last Tuesday, the MBA Annual Meeting was uplifting, inspiring, and FUN! Thanks to the nearly 200 members of the Milwaukee legal community who joined us and to our generous sponsors who make these events possible.

Juneteenth National Independence Day is a federally recognized holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. To recognize the holiday the Milwaukee Bar Association is hosting a FREE screening of the documentary "Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America".

This is a wonderful way to become further educated about the enduring legacy of U.S. anti- Black racism and our collective responsibility to overcome it. The film's documentarian, Jeffrey Robinson, attended Marquette University followed by law school at Harvard. Weaving heartbreak, humor, passion, and rage, Robinson’s words lay bare an all-but-forgotten past, as well as our shared responsibility to create a better country in our lifetimes.

Join us at the MBA tomorrow over the lunch hour for a valuable CLE presented by David Turek of Gass Turek LLC!

This CLE will focus on civil claims that may exist as alternatives to a standard breach of contract claim. If no contract exists, or if a contract claim is barred for some reason, a party may be able to rely on equitable theories such as unjust enrichment, promissory estoppel, and quantum meruit to still secure a recovery. Add to your legal toolbox by diving into underappreciated claims that may become instrumental to your next victory.
