Indaba Band Shell

Built in partnership with Parklawn Assembly of God, the band shell hosts a summer entertainment series, plus other activities for the community. In traditional African cultures, Indaba refers to a gathering to resolve issues affecting the village. Each individual has a voice and a common story becomes created for all to share. The Indaba Band Shell is a Milwaukee gathering space that promotes revitalization of Milwaukee's near north side. As a place for community fairs, concerts, poetry readings, dance, ministry, and other community gatherings, the Indaba can bring together at 24th and North the neighborhood's youth, individuals with disabilities, adults, families, elders and community organizations. Each summer, the Indaba hosts the free weekly, family-friendly entertainment series, Indaba Nights, on Wednesday evenings. Community members are welcome to attend, bring a picnic or enjoy snacks from a local food truck.
