The high school book tasting orientation was a huge hit! The culture of reading in our building has grown so much 💗

I’ll be promoting The News Literacy Project with teachers, students, and families this year!

Thanks to our awesome upper elementary students who helped the voting process run smoothly this morning for lower elementary students!! 🗳️ 🇺🇸

MPS is hosting Mock Elections for all students in K5 - 12th grade next week! The library will host voting for K5 through 6th grade. Middle and high school students will vote in their Social Studies classrooms. We have created little voting booths for privacy and purchased voting stickers to make it official for our students!

When Katherine Applegate writes the final book in this epic series, I need a box of tissue in the first 10 pages😭💜 Ivan, Bob, and Ruby have such a special place in my heart after sharing their stories with students for over a decade! I can’t wait for my own son to finally meet them🥰

Last week we had a special author visit from my dear, long-time friend, Laura Anne Merritt Bird, who came to share her first book with our Upper Elementary classrooms! “Crossing the Pressure Line” is such a fabulous middle-grade book and our students can’t wait to get their hands on their signed copies to read over summer break!! We especially love that Laura is a local author and that her story takes place in the Wisconsin north woods! The students loved the special feather bookmarks she brought for them to make!
