I love that vintage doesn’t all have to be rare, expensive, or designer.
Sometimes it’s just a ceramic poodle with giant blue eyes that makes you smile :)

Seven years ago.
Before the big building.
Before the lines.
Before BC Modern became a destination📍
We were open every weekend.
For years.
This video popped up in my memories and reminded me how easy it is to walk into a space today without seeing everything that came before it.
Many late nights.
The weekends.
The risks.
The uncertainty.
I’m grateful for those years because they laid the foundation for everything BC Modern has become.
Sometimes the things that create freedom later require sacrifice first.
This is a little piece of the story before BC Modern REALLY became BC Modern.

One of the reasons we love vintage lighting is because it reminds us that everyday furniture used to be designed with a lot more personality.
Not everything needs to be rare.
But great design has a way of making a space feel different the moment you walk into it.
