This was a great year in terms of cutting our engine list in half and we hope to be completely caught up soon. In the last few pictures, we are preparing our mold with “mold release paint” to pour out first batch of heads in almost 18 months.

November is upon us and we’re getting things done!! A complete 2007 outlaw street engine, installed dual Weber 44’s on the yellow engine, another 1776 longblock, the 2000cc type 4 is out the door, an HP-1 transmission, 6 cases align bored, thrust cut, machined for head stud inserts and then we began disassembly of this “ran when parked” type 3 fuel injected motor.

The best news? I was at our new foundry last week to approve some samples so we should have our first batch of Made in the USA cylinder heads in the next few weeks. It’s been a LONG 18 months of losing two foundries to closures but we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We just did a count and we built over 100 engines in the last 14 months. We are soooo close to being caught up.

Thank you again for those who waited a long time and especially those customers who are still waiting. We haven’t forgotten about you.

Right now, our fastest turnaround times are for case work, engine kits, engine parts, axle beams, and head rebuilding.

We’re so busy, we’re seeing double!!! That’s not photoshop, we have two of the exact same bus here right now. One is on its way out after getting a rebuilt transmission and the other just got the engine pulled for a full rebuild. Below, we have a complete 2000cc on the test stand, a complete swingaxle ready to ship, a 1776PS longblock tested and ready to ship, a complete rebuilt off road motor waiting for new 40IDF dual carbs, a brand new case being machined for a stroker motor, a set of Mofoco 050’s machined for dual plugs, a set of rebuilt water boxer heads and two formula vee flywheels machined on our CNC turning center.

We have been BUSY!!! As I said in my last update, we are trending upward to be caught up by the time the snow flies so get those orders in for spring and next summer!!!

Transmissions, transmissions and more transmissions!!! We currently have 5 transmissions fully rebuilt and ready for testing but had to take a slight detour to rebuild our transmission test engine. As some of you know, we are the only company that installs every rebuilt transmission into a car and test drives it to make sure it has good upshifts, good downshifts, no grinding, no popping out of gear and no leaking. Maybe some of you didn’t know but we were attempting to manufacture engine cases about 12 years ago and the first case we ever built has been powering our test car ever since. Twelve years and thousands of tests and it only needed an align bore.

Happy Labor Day everyone and boy have we been laboring!!! First and foremost, I am back in the shop at about 90%. I still have to wear a brace on my elbow but at least I can work. Second, I reduced the price of my car to $14,999. If you want to buy an engine, we will install and tune it at no charge. Third, we’ve been building like crazy lately and anticipate being caught up before the snow flies. I know many people have waited a long time but everyone is being taken care of. If you’re looking to order an engine or transmission, now is the time to place that order. And last, but certainly not least, a representative from our new foundry came to inspect the newly upgraded cylinder head mold on Friday and he is confident that we will have head castings to machine in the next 14-21 days. Thank you all for your patience and support as we have experienced a lot of manufacturing issues over the last year and a half. It looks like we are finally at the light at the end of the tunnel. Remember, it’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s continuing to dust yourself off and get back up.

Good Morning VW World!! Another week and my recovery continues. The stitches and vacuum pump have been removed from my arm so I able to put in some hours actually working in the shop. This week we have a lot of things in stock or in process and can ship within 5 business days. Due to recent events, I am selling my car. It currently does not have an engine and is priced accordingly. We also have an 80-83 Bus transmission, 40hp engine kit, 1600 engine kit and type 2/4 1800cc engine kit, all available with rebuilt German cylinder heads.

We also have German stock and lightened flywheels in stock and all configurations of type 1 axle beams.
