“Dog” will have its unveiling at this year’s Milwaukee Film Festival ~~~ Official release to follow.

had the idea to shoot the video in the stripped down remains of my house after the fire. By the second day of shooting, we had scraped together a few lights and began to experiment with shadows cast by all the exposed studs… the result was a poetic visual rendering of living through a dark time, seeing yourself only in flashes.
Josh filmed the whole thing and we edited it together.

Can’t wait to be back in the arms of my Cinci loves at the end of the month! Homecoming and “Dog” single release show at Northside Tavern - Sunday, August 31st

The world is upside down right now - trying to remember the things that are worth fighting for and cherish what moments of joy we are able to scrape together… this night will surely be a cup-filler if you’re feeling a little thin

“Dog” has been out for a few weeks now… it’s been one of the most meaningful things I’ve released to date and I owe a lot to for really throwing himself into it with me to get it out in special time to honor Jackson and make good use of grief.

This show comes complete with two other femme baddies opening the evening… is gonna butter you up with her angelic and ethereal harp tunes and NYC-based is sure to satisfy you with her delicately-laced and intricate avant-folk songs.

Can’t wait to see you

It’s been about four months since my mom passed away. Around the time of her funeral, I was trying to arrange memorial donations in her name to a local cause but my efforts were halted by the fire and everything else that has subsequently been upended.

However, with unwavering support from my community, some friends have rallied together to help put forth an honest effort in raising funds, in my mother’s name, for local non-profit that is very close to my heart.

Announcing MOL BALL 🩵
A night of music and friendship to benefit Queen City Clubhouse ~ Sunday, August 3rd at Northside Tavern

The QCC has been a safe haven of community, friendship, and activity for my brother for the last few years and it I know my mom would have loved to help contribute to the cause as she tried her best in helping care for Andy as best she was able.

About QCC:

WHY? family photo

Been hard to find the words.

On the morning of March 24th, my mother, Amy, passed away.

The undoubtable truth is that my mom had one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever known and she loved her children very much, despite how complications with addiction may have interfered with or distorted that reality. The tremendous amount of grief has surprised me and all I can seem (or want) to remember is how it felt to be loved by her- and the sorrow that comes with knowing that for the rest of my days, no one will ever love me like she did.

She was in the hospital for a week before we left for tour… I got to spend nearly every day of that with her, and even got a few, short, waking moments squeezing fingers and telling her how much I loved her.

Her passing came the morning we played in Brighton. I went down to the lobby of the hotel and had breakfast with Josiah and Heather, looking out to a view of the sea. My mom had an affinity for hunting sea shells and it felt really special to be so close to the beach that day.

It’s been strange to know what or when or how to share this news, especially while I’ve been away from home. I’d be remiss if I didn’t express how uniquely held I was by being in close company with some of my best friends during this time. Heather, Josiah, Doug, Yoni, Brent, and Josh- I am so lucky to have been in a position of receiving such direct love and support and I love you all so much.

My aunt Nancy was with my mom in the hospital nearly (if not every) day, and several aunts and uncles and friends of my mom’s were able to trickle in to say hellos or goodbyes or goodbyes masked as hellos and I’m so grateful my mom was able to be with her favorite company before she passed.

Today I head back to Cincinnati with a heavier heart than when I left, but with an eagerness to be surrounded by familiar faces and the comfort of home. I’ve dropped many balls in the last few weeks- apologies if I’ve lagged in response or left you hanging. It might be that way for a while yet.

XO
