چھت کے پنکھے (Ceiling Fan) میں کیپسیٹر کا بنیادی کام اسے اسٹارٹنگ ٹارک (Starting Torque) فراہم کرنا اور اس کی رفتار کو برقرار رکھنا ہوتا ہے۔ اکثر لوگ پنکھے کی رفتار کم ہونے پر بغیر سوچے سمجھے بڑا کیپسیٹر لگا دیتے ہیں، جو کہ وقتی طور پر تو فائدہ دیتا ہے لیکن طویل مدت میں پنکھے کو تباہ کر دیتا ہے۔

پنکھے میں بڑا کیپسیٹر لگانے کے فائدے اور بڑے نقصانات
عام طور پر گھروں میں استعمال ہونے والے چھت کے پنکھے 50 سے 80 واٹ کے ہوتے ہیں جن کے لیے 2.25 µF یا 2.5 µF کا کیپسیٹر سب سے بہترین اور کمپنی کی طرف سے تجویز کردہ ہوتا ہے۔ لیکن جب پنکھا پرانا ہو جائے یا وولٹیج کم ہوں، تو لوگ 4.5 µF کا بڑا کیپسیٹر لگا دیتے ہیں۔ آئیے دیکھتے ہیں کہ اس کے کیا فائدے اور نقصانات ہیں۔
1۔ بڑا کیپسیٹر لگانے کا عارضی فائدہ
سچ یہ ہے کہ بڑا کیپسیٹر لگانے کا صرف ایک ہی عارضی فائدہ ہوتا ہے:
رفتار میں فوری اضافہ: اگر پنکھے کی وائنڈنگ کمزور ہو چکی ہو یا بجلی کے وولٹیج بہت کم آ رہے ہوں، تو بڑا کیپسیٹر (جیسے 3.5 یا 4.5 مائیکرو فیراڈ) پنکھے کو زیادہ طاقت دیتا ہے جس سے اس کی رفتار فوری طور پر تیز ہو جاتی ہے اور وہ زیادہ ہوا دینے لگتا ہے۔
2۔ بڑا کیپسیٹر لگانے کے بڑے نقصانات (اصل نقصان)
بظاہر رفتار تیز ہونا فائدہ مند لگتا ہے، لیکن یہ پنکھے کی موت کا سامان ہوتا ہے۔ اس کے بڑے نقصانات درج ذیل ہیں:
موٹر کا شدید گرم ہونا (Overheating): بڑا کیپسیٹر موٹر کے اسٹارٹنگ اور رننگ وائنڈنگ میں گنجائش سے زیادہ کرنٹ (Ampere) بھیجتا ہے۔ کرنٹ زیادہ ہونے کی وجہ سے پنکھے کی موٹر استری کی طرح گرم ہونا شروع ہو جاتی ہے۔
وائنڈنگ کا جل جانا: جب پنکھا مسلسل کئی گھنٹے شدید گرم حالت میں چلتا ہے، تو اس کی کاپر وائنڈنگ پر چڑھا ہوا انسولیشن (وارنش) پگھل جاتا ہے۔ اس کے نتیجے میں وائنڈنگ شارٹ ہو جاتی ہے اور پنکھا جل جاتا ہے۔
بجلی کے بل میں اضافہ: بڑا کیپسیٹر لگانے سے پنکھا عام روٹین سے زیادہ کرنٹ (Amperes) کھینچتا ہے۔ اس کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ جو پنکھا پہلے 70 واٹ لے رہا تھا، وہ اب 100 واٹ سے بھی زیادہ بجلی استعمال کرے گا، جس سے آپ کے بجلی کے بل میں واضح اضافہ ہوگا۔
بیئرنگ اور شافٹ کی خرابی: تیز رفتار اور شدید ہیٹ کی وجہ سے پنکھے کے بیئرنگ کا گریس خشک ہو جاتا ہے۔ اس سے پنکھے میں سے آوازیں آنے لگتی ہیں اور بیئرنگ جام ہونے کا خطرہ بڑھ جاتا ہے۔
پنکھا گرنے کا حادثہ: حد سے زیادہ تیز رفتار اور بیئرنگ جام ہونے کی صورت میں پنکھے کے اندرونی کٹاؤ یا شافٹ ٹوٹنے کا خطرہ ہوتا ہے، جس سے پنکھا چلتے چلتے نیچے بھی گر سکتا ہے۔

اگر آپ کا پنکھا 2.5 µF کے کیپسیٹر پر آہستہ چل رہا ہے، تو اس کا مطلب یہ ہرگز نہیں کہ کیپسیٹر چھوٹا ہے۔ اس کی اصل وجوہات یہ ہو سکتی ہیں:
پنکھے کا اپنا کیپسیٹر کمزور ہو چکا ہے (اسے بدل کر دوبارہ 2.5 µF کا ہی نیا کیپسیٹر لگائیں)۔
پنکھے کے بیئرنگ جام ہیں یا ان میں کچرا آ چکا ہے۔
پیچھے سے بجلی کے وولٹیج 220V سے بہت کم آ رہے ہیں۔
نتیجہ:
