How can AI help people be heard when words don’t come easily after brain injury or stroke? 🧠
This summer, Emmanuel Salazar is conducting research at Marquette University on how artificial intelligence can support human communication. Using AI models like BERT, his work focuses on interpreting and reconstructing fragmented speech caused by aphasia, a language disorder that can make it difficult to express thoughts and ideas. By transforming incomplete phrases into clearer sentences, this research has the potential to make communication more accessible for people living with aphasia.
Way to go, Emmanuel! 💫
