URGENT ACTION ALERT

Due to the motion to reconsider the passage of HB 301 today, we need as many of you as possible to continue making calls and emails to the members of the Senate.

Please thank the Senators who voted "yes" today. Encourage them to stay strong in their support of HB 301, in its current form. This is a good bill that restores the right of adult adopted people to their own vital record and ensures they are treated with dignity and equality.

Whether you make contact by phone or email, please stay respectful in your communications. We believe truth will win!

My name is Renée Murphy, and I am a graduate student at Antioch University and an adult adoptee via foster care. I am conducting a research study on how adult adoptees describe their experiences with adoption. The goal of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of adoptee perspectives and to inform adoption-sensitive counseling practices.

If you have anyone in your group or practice who might be willing to participate, I would appreciate it if you could pass this information along. My goal is really to get adult adoptee voices heard, as there is so little out there right now.

Who can participate?
Adults (18+) who were adopted domestically (within the same country and culture).

What does participation involve?
Completion of a Demographic Questionnaire
A 60–90-minute interview (in person or online).

Questions about identity, belonging, family connections, symbolic events, and views on adoption.
Participation is voluntary, and you may stop at any time.
Your identity and responses will remain confidential

*Wednesday, November 5th @ 10 a.m. there is a Public Hearing at our Wisconsin's State Capital.
*Calling on all Adoptees, Bio Moms and Bio Dads and Adoptive parents to come support and/or speak.
This Bill is simply giving us Adoptees a non-redacted copy of our own Birth Certificate, just like any other citizen. The current law does not allow us Adoptees access to this piece of paper. A privilege to have a voice and have the freedom to utilize it.
All eyes are on Wisconsin...
