Follow along as I convert my RHD JZA80 Supra to Turbo/6-speed!

Put my carpet IN THE BIN ( ) for the last 7 days and here’s how it came out. Swipe to see how it looked before. Super happy with how dark the dye job turned out, but def learned a lot throughout the process. It’s a messy job, but totally worth it!

It may have been time to clean the carpet 🤢
Getting ready to dye the carpet black as part of my interior project that has absolutely snowballed. Didn’t think I was going to go this far 🤦♂️
Just need to keep knocking projects off the to-do list and I know we’ll get there. As always Sam is a saint for helping me with all this stuff 😂

Made some solid progress removing the tunnel piece. Loved using the band file to remove the spot welds. It makes the entire process pretty quick and also doesn’t require drilling any holes.
A bit of a learning curve with the undercoating, but really happy with how it came out. We test fit the new panel and there will be a good amount of cleanup to get it fitting right.
Also we stopped procrastinating and moved the welder from the shop. Looking forward to all the progress!

Just collecting BMW transmissions over here 😂
Hoping this one is in better shape than the one I originally purchased. It *technically* works fine, but I tried it with 3 different types of gear oil and two clutches. The car it came from had a very concerning Carfax like most BMWs with 5 owners. First/second gear were tricky when it was cold and third gear always had a grind. Can’t wait to try out this new-to-me transmission once the interior is all back together. More updates on the interior rebuild soon! 🍻

How it started VS How its going 😅

Happy to finally get started on winter projects! Installing the manual tunnel on this car is going to be challenging because Ive never done this type of work. I plan to just take it slow and learn along the way. Managed to pull this thing in 55 minutes once the car was up in the air. It’s also nice to get inspect hope the transmission conversion is holding up. Everything came apart nicely and looks good so far. Ready for the next phase of upgrades!!!

Always using this thing like a

Still working on fixing my heat and the TSRM diagnostics are COMPLICATED. But theres like lukewarm air that comes out, so I’ll just keep driving for now 😂

Replaced the upper control arm bushing and fixed the weird kink I had in the braided steel brake line.
Managed to go to (most likely) the last cars and coffee of the year. Just in time for the snow 😅
Now it’s time to rip it all apart to upgrade stuff for next summer!

You know…you can take ‘em out in the rain &
*t

I honestly have no idea how TF this happened, but the car made it home. The theme of this month is EVERYTHING breaking. Sam and I have been working on stuff all summer and it’s all broken 😂
We will REBUILD and return stronger than ever ✊

Heading into work late today, so got to enjoy the morning with my wife. I’m a so I had to grab an from my fav coffee spot
Also saw this insane with goodies on it. Saw it pull up and got to talk to the owner and everything! Major gangster sedan goals!!

Summer is coming to a close in and I don’t want it to end 😔

Absolutely love the fact that we’ve gotten these things running and driving this summer. The best part is I got to hang out with my best friend the whole time. Trust me there were a lot of frustrating times, but it’s so rewarding when you get to enjoy the cars. We’ve got a lot planned for our projects and we can’t wait to share it with YOU!

The latest haul of “overnight” parts from Japan and a sign of things to come. I don’t want a hacked up tunnel and the trans needs room to go up in the tunnel, so here’s the solution. Excited/nervous to tackle this job 😬

Love these pics now that we’ve been enjoying our
We went around to all the murals near my house and took a bunch of pics. People were starting thinking we were weird and I was just beaming. IG is weird with the formatting so I’ll just post them up in a few separate posts.
I know we’ve been busy with summer stuff but we have some exciting updates on the way!

Shoutout to for making these super sweet . Not only do they look cool, but they taste pretty great too!

Way more than you can afford pal

This was the first car I “built” and spent actual time modifying it. I learned a lot lessons with this one. I purchased it in California with a cage and an r154 swap for right around $3k. Almost immediately started a 1j swap, coilover setup, a bunch of parts, and a L*D. Had so much help from all my homies and even left rot at garage for a while until his dad gave me the boot (which I totally deserved 😂)
I never really had enough money to enjoy it with being in school, but I loved this thing. I sold it for a MASSIVE loss at the time and used to profits to buy an engagement ring (which was the best decision)
TLDR cars are cool and life comes at you fast. Cressidas are cool and I still want one 😂

I’ve missed this so much and I’ve loved cruising around in this thing. It’s been fun to share with my family, friends and all the strangers who get a kick out of seeing it. Looking forward to getting the car DIALED, but still happy it works with all that’s been taken apart and reinstalled or modified. Also it’s Wisconsin and it feels like summer is finally here.

We’ve been trying to knock out some long overdue maintenance and future-proofing. The VVTI setup makes timing these engines pretty confusing, but Sam can always figure this sort of stuff out. Between my internet research and Sam’s mechanical aptitude it seems like we’re usually able to figure it out 😅

Another car you’ll see us working on is this
This is a suuuuper clean example that was purchased from the west coast with only 75k miles. In order to get it going this summer we’ll be doing a bunch of long overdue maintenance to get it back in action! Let us know if you’re interested in the

Still some small stuff to button up on the but excited to finally get it back on the road! From a suspension standpoint this thing feels like a new car and soaks up the bumps. Love it for street driving and also feels incredible in the corners. I currently have the shocks set to the softest dampening setting but I’m excited to try them all out to see how it changes the feel of the car.
Finishing the suspension made me realize that I need to spend some serious time in the interior 😅

Got the front end back together and I couldn’t be more excited. Now I’m over here wishing I cleaned up the knuckle/sway bar and painted it, but I didn’t have the time. Maybe some cool aftermarket sway bars are in the future? Things are finally going back on the car and next up we’ll tackle the rear suspension.

Picked up a crusty junkyard GE-VVTI with the intent of using the head on my non-vvti block. This way I get the best of both worlds and maximize efficiency across the RPM range. We should have a video up later this week as we start to tear down the motor and take a look. Excited to finally pick one of these up and get a “deal” on it. I’ve been passively looking for the last year or so and prices just seem to be going up.

Swipe to see the transformation. After cleaning up all the arms last weekend I wanted to put a fresh coat of black paint on them for protection. I painted it all in the garage and was decently happy with the setup. They aren’t absolutely perfect, but I’m happy with how it turned out. Trying to get everything finalized so we can start slapping it all together.
Got big plans for the next two weeks and hopefully everything goes as planned 🤞

I’ve been getting plenty of practice with the ball joint press and hydraulic press. Big thanks to and for showing me the ropes. I’ve never used either style press before, so it’s been cool to figure out how to remove each bushing. It’s sort of a fun challenge to see what combination of socket/dies you need to get each bushing out.

Had to take some good before pics so I can really appreciate what they look like when they come back.

Getting some of the final pieces together so we’ll be ready to throw everything back together once the control arms get here. Waiting on the OEM strut boots and bump stops from Japan and it’s taking an eternity. lied when they said overnight parts from 😂
