Glad to finally get these old things out! The rear mounts were a beast, but I got it eventually 😮‍💨

Ive got some new .us bushings going in with a video to follow if you want to know how to accomplish this yourself.

Huuuuuge shoutout to Sam for designing and printing this MAP sensor mount. It looks pretty basic, but there was a considerable amount of design work to make the hardware fit nicely. This tucks the sensor on the inside and should give it a clean look. The guy even the darn thing. What a steller feller!

We’re absolutely loving this part of the build and nerding out as we install all the parts.

Feels so good to get to this point. Lots of small little details that take lots of time when you’re learning. As always huge shoutout to Sam for all the expertise!

Getting closer and closer to actually having an assembled engine!

I was peer pressured into purchasing a set of cams and I couldn’t be more excited 😂

Im using this as a timestamp for when I get this dang thing back together. I JUST WANT TO DRIVE YOU, LET ME DRIVE YOU! And as always thanks Sam for always helping me and being patient when Im an idiot 😘

The head is back….now I just need to figure out what Im going to do with the bottom end. Planned on keeping everything stock from the non-vvti block, but the motor in the car doesn’t appear to be in the best shape. Should be pulling it soon, so we can get our eyes on it 👀

Making progress 💪

Had an exciting day test fitting all of the different parts I’ve ordered over the past year or so. Overall super happy with the lower runners and DBW adapter. The manifold fits nicely with the removal of a few exhaust studs. There’s enough clearance with the dodo racing fuel rail to run the direct mount AFPR and fuel pulse damper with the injectors. Only a slight clearance issue the r35 coil conversion bracket from but they’re going to send me a new coil bracket to sort it out!

The aftermarket for the VVTI head is really picking up and Im happy this all seems like it’s going to work. You can ignore the crusty block because Im planning to use the non-vvti block thats in the car.

Next steps are ripping everything apart again and getting this head off to the machine shop. I cant wait to see what this setup is capable of!

This is the look Im going for, but the factory barb on the valve covers was a beast to remove 😮‍💨
