Anybody can say they do electrical BIM.
Far fewer actually understand electrical construction.

There’s a difference between a BIM provider that can place conduit in a model and a team that understands sequencing, prefab workflows, installation constraints, coordination strategy, and how the work actually gets built in the field.

At BIMTM, we’re 100% U.S.-based, which means no fighting time zones, language barriers, or explaining U.S. construction workflows to someone who has never stepped foot on an American jobsite. We speak your language because this industry is our language.

Our clients don’t just treat us like “the BIM people.” They treat us like part of the team.

We’re here to help move projects forward, keep coordination grounded in reality, and prevent the kind of field surprises that make everyone suddenly stop answering their phone.

If that sounds like the kind of team you’re looking for, let’s talk. https://hubs.ly/Q04hHsQx0

A lot of training teaches people how to use Revit, but very few training programs teach people how to survive an actual BIM project.

That’s why we designed BIM Accelerate- for electrical teams looking to learn BEYOND just button clicking. Our program provides real-world training based on construction workflows, coordination strategy, and how projects actually get built.

We cover:
- how to properly set up and structure a real electrical BIM project
- coordination decisions impact prefab, installation, and the field
- creating models that are actually usable beyond clash detection
- avoiding common workflow mistakes that destroy projects over time

It’s 100% live, taught by industry pros, and broken up into 2-hour sessions designed to fit your busy schedule. Plus, with smaller class sizes, you can actually ask questions and make sure you understand what the h*ll you’re doing before you leave.

Don’t settle for “button clicking” Revit training that isn’t worth your time.

Your fortune cookie just predicted one of two things:
1. Your coordination meeting is about to get very expensive.
2. Someone finally realized the ceiling height was impossibly low before install day.

Honestly…could go either way.

Comment “good” or “bad” based on how you would take this fortune for your current project.

Concrete pours are one of those things where being “close enough” usually turns into a very expensive conversation later.

That’s why our lift drawings are built around actual construction workflows, not just making the model look pretty on a screen.

Pour sequencing. Embed coordination. Clear sectioning. Real buildability.

We break projects into manageable pours so the field has a clear game plan before concrete starts flying and everyone suddenly discovers “the model didn’t account for that.” Because fixing problems in the model is a lot cheaper than fixing them with cured concrete.

That’s where BIMTM comes in.

We help general contractors and construction managers create lift drawings that bring clarity to the pour process, reduce field confusion, and keep projects moving without the last-minute chaos.

Because once the concrete is poured, “we’ll figure it out later” stops being an option.

A lot of electrical contractors don’t struggle with Revit because they can’t learn the software.

They struggle because nobody taught them how to actually build a usable BIM workflow.

So what happens? Projects start with messy setup, coordination turns reactive, conduit layouts look great until somebody has to install them, and the “BIM guy” is one bad sync away from a mental breakdown.

We put together 10 of the most common Revit & BIM mistakes electrical contractors make and how to avoid them before they snowball into bigger problems later in the project.

This blog hits everything from:
- project setup
- coordination workflows
- families & model performance
- prefab considerations
- field usability
- QA/QC habits
- and why generic Revit training usually falls short

If your team has ever said, “we know Revit… but we still feel like we’re figuring it out as we go.” This blog is for you.

Most BIM problems don’t start in the model. They start somewhere between the model, prefab, and the field when communication completely falls apart.

So for our upcoming webinar with eVolve MEP we want YOUR real-world problems.

Drop your biggest model-to-field communication challenges in the comments or submit them when you register:
- prefab not matching the model
- updates not making it to the field
- coordination gaps between trades
- disconnected workflows
- “it worked in the model” moments

The most common questions and scenarios will help shape the live discussion so we can focus on actual industry problems & provide real value.

Basically: free group therapy for people tired of rework.

Coordination, clash reports, and that “urgent” email sent at 4:47 PM on Friday can wait.

Today is for remembering the people who gave everything for this country and the freedoms we often take for granted.

We’re thankful for their sacrifice and honored to remember them this Memorial Day.

Everyone says they don’t have the budget to get BIM involved during design, but somehow… there’s always time and budget for 200 RFIs later.

Funny how that works.

Early involvement during design isn’t a “nice to have.” It’s how you avoid designing something that looks great on paper and falls apart in the field.

Bring BIM in at 50 to 75 percent DD and a few things start to happen:
- RFIs get handled before they become problems
- Coordination actually means something
- Your CDs don’t read like a list of apologies

At the end of the day, you’re paying for it either way. You can pay during design… or you can pay for confusion, delays, and rework later. Your call.

If your projects keep turning into RFI marathons, it might be time to rethink when BIM gets a seat at the table.

Do you agree?

Some Revit training programs try to cram 40 hours of information into one long, painful week of screen sharing and button clicking.

And you know the Revit training is going well when nobody can remember what was covered 20 minutes ago because everyone’s brain checked out right after lunch.

By day 3, people are just nodding and hoping muscle memory takes over later.

That’s exactly why we built BIM Accelerate, our Revit and BIM training program for MEP subs.
- Live 2-hour sessions
- Smaller groups so you can actually ask questions (up to 4)
- Training built around real MEP workflows instead of marathon lectures

Turns out people learn better when their eye balls aren’t glazed over and their brains aren’t numb.

Plus, this program is only $3,000 per training group.

A pizza pie, chicken pot pie, and pecan pie are all technically pies. But that does NOT mean they require the same ingredients, prep work, budget, or baking process.

So why do so many contractors approach every BIM project the exact same way?

This awesome analogy came from Bobby Roop from Slifco Electric in a recent collab webinar where we compared different BIM projects to different types of pies, and it explains a huge problem in the industry.

This blog breaks down:
- Why some BIM projects are way more complex than others
- How contractors accidentally underestimate BIM scope
- What questions should actually be asked before bidding
- And why BIM is way more than “just making a model”
