⚡️HOANCHELLA⚡️
Repost 👇
Milwaukee is giving major Chicago vibes in this shot.
It’s hard to imagine what Milwaukee was like before the riverwalk was built, but there was a time when Milwaukee turned its back to its rivers. Luckily, times have changed and we’ve embraced our waterways. Over the years people have been drawn to the river to enjoy public art installations such as RiverSculpture and and festivals such as the now defunct RiverSplash! and annual Holiday Lights Festival. As this city continues to shake its rust off and companies and developers continue to invest their resources into our great city, my good friend , our friends at and myself found ourselves thinking there was no better time to tie it all together and created Hoanchella, an event that celebrates our great city, our talented and innovative people and our landmarks.
We hope you’ll join us on August 17th on Milwaukee River! For more information/tickets head over to Hoanchella.com. There are a limited amount of tickets still available.

Call for Artists for New Mural in Downtown South Milwaukee
The City of South Milwaukee invites artists to submit for a mural project on the west wall of the South Milwaukee Human Concerns building at 1029 Milwaukee Avenue. The building is located in the heart of the downtown, adjacent to our successful South Milwaukee Downtown Market, Da Crusher Statue and the new Bucyrus Commons gathering space.
The project’s goal is to bring the community together and attract visitors to the downtown. The design should represent new beginnings for the City of South Milwaukee. Beautification and “surprise and delight” is encouraged.
Applicants may be an individual, artist, or group of artists, submitting a concept by March 13, 2023. Upon selection, an artist will develop a final design and begin work June 2023.
For a complete list of requirements, please find information at https://bit.ly/SMmuralproject.

Support Local MKE
Milwaukee has always been the city that supports each other--whether that is person to person or business to business, we have always been in this together. Ever since the pandemic hit, there have been multiple Facebook Groups created, GoFundMe accounts, virtual tips jars, and many more efforts to raise money to support the Milwaukee community. Local businesses were giving back to those on the front lines, working tirelessly through this pandemic, and they were also giving back to the community. The big question is--who was giving back to them?
Digital marketing is at an all-time high right now. Everyone and anyone is on their phone, and it is the perfect opportunity to get in front of them and advertise. Being a Social Media Marketer, I immediately saw an opportunity to help support local Milwaukee businesses, and ran with it.
Thus, Support Local MKE was created.
About Support Local MKE
Support Local MKE is an Instagram page created to raise awareness and support for Milwaukee's local businesses during the pandemic. The page highlights Restaurants, Beverages, Fitness, Creatives, and Community Shoutouts--those with positive stories and saying thank you to the people working tirelessly through these times.
