The 2022 garden season has officially started for us here today, as the ranunculus corms (πŸ™) are soaking now and going onto trays of soil later tonight. Last year was my last big hurrah for annuals, and this year we'll focusing on filling in our (once deemed) annual beds with more and more perennials (currants, gooseberries and grapes oh my). I'm still going to have bouquets available anytime, but doing just pre-orders and no weekly porch sales. Here's also some daffodils to get us excited for spring, they're the first flowers, and one of my very favorites, that I'll have bouquets of for sale (in just over 2 months!). Is this winter going by quicker than past years for anyone else too? I can't believe we're less than 50 days until crocus πŸ’•πŸ¦‹πŸŒΌ

No porch sale this Saturday, it's my mom's birthday so she gets all my flowers πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

Our garden has an Instagram that is a bit more active (and less strictly cut flower related) than this page if you're interested in following there as well! πŸ¦‹

Today's dehydrator load is something else 😍. I love slowly adding to my stash of floral confetti because it's a visual reminder to me that truly nothing goes to waste around here. All the flowers I grow were started from seeds which came in paper packets which were composted, they're then grown in rice hulls (a byproduct of the rice industry), leaf mulch and worm castings from our vermicomposting bins and are later fed with homemade fertilizers and teas made from various roots, seeds and berries. For every one thing I take from this garden, I give back 20 times. Our practices here are so more than just organic or waste free, they're regenerative. The biodiversity in our garden grows by the minute and it's expressed in super happy flowers πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹

I'll be on my porch til noon selling flowers! I'll likely have a ton of flowers this week, so if you can't make it today feel free to message anytime you're in need of a bouquet!

The dahlia patch is starting to explode with blooms (and will continue 'til frost!). So far just the dahlias I planted from seed (which are a totally mystery as dahlia seeds aren't true to the mother plant, they could be any color/size) are blooming which has been fun since they're all a surprise, but I'm so excited for the blooms on the actual tubers I planted to open! Those are some stunners 😍. Message if you're looking for bouquets at all this week, otherwise I'll be selling more mason jar arrangements on my porch this Saturday!

I dropped off a box full of beauty this morning at Fischberger's! If you need fresh local flowers in your life (who doesn't?), head there today or tomorrow for a pint jar arrangement! Lots of sunflowers, the first of the dahlias, snapdragons and each jar is packed with beautiful and insanely aromatic basil!
