"Kara Melodic (I swear that’s how she’s listed in the album credits!) delivers lead vocal performances that soar above the grandiosity without taking songs in overwrought directions. She shines particularly bright on the epic ballad “I Miss Us,” featuring additional vocals from Marszalkowski. Echoes of Conscience is not a passive listen; there is so much going on in nearly every track that you’ll want to make sure you pay attention and hear everything."
Thank you Michael Popke & Shepherd Express!

Finished building my guitar speaker cabinet. 🔊
Loaded it with a single 12” , which is cool for my dual rec, because it’s 120 watts.
I stained the pine with sometimes looks very purple and sometimes looks red. Depends on the lights. Looks pretty red in these photos, but I swear it’s purple in person.
If you look closely you’ll notice that I installed the fabric pattern upside down by mistake.

It’s closed back, and so far there isn’t much rattle unless I really crank the amp to uncomfortable volumes.

Big thank you to for cutting the wood. 🫶🪚

It’s far from perfect, but I’m pretty happy with it. Since the floods wrecked my basement, I feel very depressed when i think about replacing stuff. This DIY project was perfect for my brain. Less sad now. 🥹

Six voices in the “choir” today (five pictured, plus Johnny behind the camera). We sang each of the three parts twice to create harmony in stereo, so it should hopefully sound like 36 voices.
Getting really close to finishing this album!

🎶 John Marszalkowski and the Vision Behind Echoes of Conscience 🎶

For me, music goes beyond sound; sometimes, it even feels like a spiritual experience. Certain music can feel like an internal dialogue, where the echoes of questions bouncing around in my mind occasionally meet a response I didn’t expect.

Echoes of Conscience marks a turning point for me, following years of music rooted in darker themes and fueled by the weight of depression. This album, though, is about the relief and clarity that come after that storm. But it’s not an all-sunshine record—it’s my perspective of life’s duality, where blessings and struggles often overlap.

Creating Echoes of Conscience has been both challenging and rewarding. I decided early on to set some creative limits: no synths, MIDI, or virtual instruments—only “real” sounds. Working with Milwaukee’s talented musicians has been a milestone for me, with each person contributing something irreplaceable to these songs. This project has been the most ambitious recording I’ve ever taken on, and I’m beyond grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life.

Today is the last day to support the project on Kickstarter, and each pledge brings this project one step closer to reality. Thank you for being part of this journey with me and for helping Echoes of Conscience find its voice.
