Training Air Wing FIVE

This weekend three members of the TW-5 team contributed to an overall first place for both the Navy Women's and Men's teams at the 2025 Armed Forces Triathlon Championship.

CDR Kyle Ho**er (VT-3) won the individual Men's Armed Forces National Championship, his 8th title.

LTJG Hannah Walz (HT-28) won the individual Women's Armed Forces National Championship, her 2nd title.

1stLt Megan Gephart (HT-8) placed 4th overall.

BZ for getting after it and showing the rest of the military how it's done!

LT Danielle McKnight received The Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal from CAPT Kenneth Kerr on the 2nd of April, 2025. LT McKnight received this award for her service as Training Air Wing Five’s Rotary Wing Operations Officer.

February 13th, 2025 marked Training Air Wing Five’s (TW-5) Change of Command with Captain Kenneth Kerr taking over for Colonel Anthony Krockel. With CNATRA, Rear Admiral Richard Brophy, as the guest speaker to mark the occasion.

TRAWING FIVE received three new TH-73A’s from the Leonardo facility in Northeast Philadelphia and “delivered” them to NAS Whiting Field earlier this month. This light division ferry flight allowed us to conduct a photo-ex enroute and capture the TH-73 with some of our most treasured national landmarks. This airframe is replacing the TH-57 Jet Ranger, as the advanced rotary platform for all Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and International Student helicopter training. We are looking forward to completing the pick-up and delivery of all 130 TH-73A’s in summer of 2025.
