Chet Vincent has been a staple of the Pittsburgh music scene for nearly 20 years. He’s fronted bands like The Big Bend and Birdwatcher while playing with a smattering of other Pittsburgh players in their projects. These days, he fronts Chet Vincent & The Music Industry — an amalgamation of those previous bands and others Chet has collaborated with through the years.

This month, WYEP is featuring Chet Vincent & The Music Industry as our Local 913 artist. Tune in to hear their song "Sweet Mary" in regular rotation and check out their Live & Direct session at wyep.org/local913.

Last Friday we recorded a Live & Direct Session at the 91.3 WYEP studios! We played a few songs from our soon-to-be-released record “Static On The Radio” in front of a small in studio audience. Look for it to be posted on YouTube and broadcast on-air in March.

I’m really excited to announce that The Music Industry will be releasing our second album, “Static On The Radio” this March! We will be celebrating with a release show + 🚨 LIVE ALBUM RECORDING 🚨 at the beautiful ‘The Sanctuary at Mr. Smalls’ on Saturday, March 28th. And if that wasn’t enough, the extremely talented Clinton Clegg will be kicking off the night with a stripped down set.

This is the second Music Industry album, a follow up to “Young Leaves” released in 2023. “Static On The Radio” was an absolute joy to work on. The sessions were communal, full of creativity and exploration — and I think the songs really capture that energy. Can’t wait to share them.

We will be spending the winter putting together a live show worthy of being recorded at The Sanctuary. It would mean a TON to see everyone there that night.
