Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to the educators who show up every single day with patience, persistence, creativity, and heart. đź’™

A special thank you to Teachers of the Deaf, interventionists, literacy specialists, and classroom teams who work tirelessly to create meaningful access to language and learning for their students.

The work you do matters.

The long days, the problem solving, the consistency, the reteaching, the celebrating of every small breakthrough, it all matters more than you know.

At Fairview Learning, we are honored to support educators who are deeply committed to helping students grow in confidence, language, comprehension, and literacy.

This week, we celebrate YOU.

Thank you for the work you do and the lives you impact every day. ✨

Fairview isn’t a collection of strategies.

It’s not something you “plug into” another framework.
It’s not something you layer on top of other programs.

Fairview is a literacy system.

It was designed with a clear scope, sequence, and instructional model so teachers don’t have to piece together “what works” on their own.

When implemented with fidelity, it gives students access to language, meaning, and real reading growth.

There are a lot of approaches out there.
We are very clear about what we are.

And we stand by the work.

03/19/2026

It’s not a lack of effort.
It’s not a lack of materials.

It’s the approach.

We hear it all the time, students who have tried multiple programs, multiple strategies, and still aren’t making the progress everyone is hoping for. It can feel frustrating and overwhelming.

At Fairview Learning, we do things differently.
Our program is designed specifically for deaf and hard of hearing readers, focusing on language, comprehension, and strategies that actually stick.

But here’s the part we emphasize most:

Training matters.

Because when educators and parents understand the why behind the instruction, and feel confident using it, that’s when real progress happens.

Not sure where to start?
Many begin with training, while others choose our online tutoring program where we guide you every step of the way (no materials needed to get started).

You don’t need more.
You just need what works. đź’›

Literacy in action at Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf 📚💙

We recently had the opportunity to visit classrooms across all grade levels at Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf, and the confidence, intentionality, and heart behind the instruction was truly inspiring.

From kindergarten through high school, Fairview strategies were implemented with strong fidelity, while still allowing room for flexibility, creativity, and complementary approaches that meet students exactly where they are. A special shout-out to the kindergarten team for their exceptional work with prereaders and early literacy routines. Their thoughtful, developmentally aligned instruction deserves to be celebrated.

We are so proud to partner with educators who understand that strong foundations and responsive teaching go hand in hand. Thank you, Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf, for the work you do every day to support confident, capable readers. đź’™

Happy Holidays from Fairview Learning

As we wrap up the year, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible educators and schools we partner with. Your dedication to supporting literacy for deaf and hard of hearing learners continues to inspire us every day.

We’ll be taking a short holiday break from December 22 – January 4 and will be back in the office on January 5, refreshed and ready for the new year.

Wishing you a season filled with rest, joy, and meaningful moments.

Some mornings remind us why this work matters so much.

Last Friday, we had the privilege of meeting with a team who is truly leaning into the Fairview process. They’ve been engaging with the online training, applying strategies with fidelity, and you can see the shift, in their instruction and in their confidence.

It’s powerful to watch a team commit to the process and build momentum step by step. When educators do the work, the outcomes speak for themselves.

Grateful to be part of this journey and to work alongside teachers who show up, keep growing, and are changing literacy outcomes for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners, one lesson at a time!

We wanted to share a quick clarification about our recent post referencing Gallaudet University’s LAAWs (Language Abilities & Approaches Wheel) framework.

The LAAWs Wheel is a conceptual reflection tool designed to help programs look at the components that support strong signacy, language development, and literacy for DHH learners. It’s not a research study or comparative rating system.

Our intention was simply to use the Wheel as a lens to reflect on how Fairview aligns with the components identified in the framework, and we found strong alignment across all major areas. We appreciate the opportunity to provide that clarification and stay aligned with the purpose of the tool.

As we head into Thanksgiving, we are incredibly thankful for the educators, families, and teams who work every day to support DHH students. 🍂🧡

Our office will be closed next week (Nov 24- 28)for the holiday. We hope you all enjoy a restful, meaningful break!

Big News in the DHH Literacy World!
Gallaudet University’s Clerc Center recently released their conceptual framework for DHH curriculum and programs using the Language Abilities & Approaches Wheel.

The LAAWs Wheel highlights the essential components that support strong signacy, language development, and literacy for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. It offers a comprehensive look at what matters most when building a rich language-learning environment.

As we looked at Fairview through the lens of the LAAWs framework, we saw strong alignment across the major components of the Wheel, including language development, structured literacy instruction, and consistency across classrooms and teams.

Educators and schools have seen these strengths in action for years:
âś“ Fairview is comprehensive.
âś“ Fairview addresses multiple essential components of literacy and language.
âś“ Fairview supports DHH learners through a structured, systematic approach designed specifically for them.

We’re proud of the program we’ve built and even more proud of the educators and students who bring Fairview to life every day.
