CAKE closed Sound Summit in epic fashion, leaving a well-nourished crowd heading down the mountain in the afterglow of a joyfully long and memorable day.

STAND! What a fantastic performance in celebration of Sly & The Family Stone. Led by our music director Larry Batiste, featuring special guests Taj Mahal Narada Michael Walden Greg Errico, Martin Luther McCoy, Vicki Randle, and an incredible house band of stellar Bay Area musicians, – Rustee Allen, Naté Soulsanger Silk E, Cornell CC Carter, Fred Ross, W***y Jordan, Wilton Rabb, Brian Braziel, David Council, Jimmy McKinney, Bill Ortiz, Eddie Mininfield, and Mads Tolling – this ensemble brought the funkiest, most soulful, booty-shaking set to Sound Summit yet.
A truly inspired and stirring tribute to a brilliant shooting star. 👏🏿 👏🏽 👏

Wow! What an amazing day! We needed to take a sec to catch our breath.

Thanks to all our fantastic artists, the weather gods, our hard working crews, all the great folks at State Parks who tend to the mountain, and all of YOU for making magic happen high above the Bay.
