Tomorrow is the last day to apply!!
A simple spay or neuter can make a lifelong difference β€” not just for one pet, but for entire communities. Fewer homeless animals. Fewer unwanted litters. More resources for pets already waiting for homes.
That’s why Good Dogma is proud to offer $20 spay and neuter assistance for qualifying residents this month.
Apply at GoodDogma.org
If you’ve been putting it off because of cost, this is your sign. 🐢🐱

URGENT Action Needed Before April 14 - Vote NO!!

Legislation is moving through the Oklahoma legislature that would strip cities and counties of their authority to regulate puppy mill retailers such as Petland. If passed, HB 4335 would force communities to accept the importation of puppy mill puppies, the sale of sick animals, deceptive sales practices, and even predatory lending schemes.

This bill is being heard in the Senate Local an County Government Committee tomorrow, Tuesday, April 14 at approximately 1:30 p.m.

It is critical that we act quickly to stop it before it advances any further.

We urgently call on the animal shelter and rescue community -- along with animal advocates across Oklahoma -- to contact committee members and ask them to OPPOSE HB 4335.

Local pet shop ordinances are designed to protect both animals and consumers. They help prevent disease outbreaks, reduce animal cruelty, curb impulse purchases, stop predatory lending practices, and limit increased costs to local shelters. Preemption bills like HB 4335 would take away local governments’ ability to enforce these protections while still leaving communities responsible for the consequences. In effect, the state would create the problem while local taxpayers are left to pay for it.

Here is a list of the committee members you need to email:

Thank you for taking action to protect animals and families in Oklahoma!

Thank you, Tara Sharp, for speaking out against HB 4335, a bill under consideration in the Oklahoma Legislature that would protect high-volume pet retailers and puppy mills at the expense of taxpayers and animals. Tell your state senator to vote NO on HB 4335! Check the comments to read Tara’s story!

🚨 URGENT! Take action NOW to STOP House Bill 4335 which will prohibit cities and municipalities from saying no to commercial pet sales like Petland!

πŸ›‘ HB 4335 is on the House floor agenda for Monday, March 2, at 1:30 p.m. Contact YOUR REPRESENTATIVES and urge them to vote NO on HB 4335.

βœ‰οΈ In the comments, please find a letter that you can CUSTOMIZE and send to your Representatives. It is important to personalize the letter, adding your own experiences and stories, either with Petland, puppy mills, or pet overpopulation. The argument that HB 4335 takes away local control from Oklahoma communities is CRITICAL!
