“I have had plenty of injuries growing up as an athlete, but none have been as incessant as my lower back injury. I tweaked it making a play similar to this one pictured my sophomore and junior year of high school. Being an admittedly dumb teenage boy I thought I was fine and just needed to tough it out. It got worse when high school was over and I went and played football elsewhere. The MD I finally made myself go see because the pain got that bad. Told me it was a simple lipoma (fatty tumor) and was causing nerve pain. He told me I could get surgery to remove it or just leave it and deal with it. He didn’t do any other checks other than he touched the area on my lumbar spine barely enough to feel the bump that is there. Well it’s been 7 years and the pain hasn’t subsided it just comes and goes and flares up when I do more than my normal activity level. I had my mentor, the best chiropractor and doctor there is. Take a look at it. Turns out it’s synovial fluid leak in my SI joint that created a cyst that is totally treatable and doesn’t require surgery. Just gotta put in the work of healing to get it better. It’s been a few weeks and it’s already feeling better than it has since I got it checked. I wish everybody would come and see Doc here life changing!”
