📢 Calling all pharmacists!
One of our fellow UPhA members, Sheldon Birch, is seeking pharmacist coverage at his Tooele pharmacy next week, especially on Wednesday and Friday.
Sheldon is currently running for Utah House District 29 and needs time away from the pharmacy to meet with voters and campaign. He is happy to pay for coverage and is not asking for donated hours—he simply needs help.
If you're available to work all or part of any day, please reach out to Sheldon directly.
Let's support a fellow pharmacist who is stepping forward to serve our profession and community.

The House Ways and Means Committee approved the Main Street Pharmacy Access Act (previously ECAPS) with bipartisan support yesterday. This is the furthest this type of policy effort has advanced in over a decade—a historic moment for community pharmacy.
The bill would establish Medicare coverage for pharmacist-provided test and treat services.
Next step: The bill will go to the House Energy and Commerce Committee and then hopefully on to the full House of Representatives. Watch for opportunities to engage your representatives—we'll keep you posted as the timeline becomes clear.
Thank you to Rep. Blake Moore for his vote of support on this important item.

House Republicans on Wednesday passed a partisan package of health care policies designed to provide a conservative alternative to extending the expiring ObamaCare subsidies.
The legislation has little chance of passing through the Senate, however, and it does not address the cost cliff that’s expected to hit 22 million Americans when the enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits sunset on Dec. 31 — a dynamic that’s infuriated centrist Republicans who’ve clamored for months to extend the benefits.
