What a fun way to close out the school year! 🎉

The final week of school kicked off with a black light party to celebrate students earning thousands of Dojo points as a school. Students walked into a gym decked out with black lights, glow-in-the-dark activities, glow face paint, bubbles, dancing, and so much fun!

We also had our end-of-year Teachers vs. 5th Grade softball game, an assembly focused on resilience, and our annual dance party! Each grade worked hard learning and performing a dance for the school and families to enjoy.

What an amazing way to celebrate a wonderful year together. We wish all of our East Midvale families a summer full of fun, memories, and lots of reading! ☀️📚💛

Last Friday, we honored Charlotte Graham at a retirement open house celebrating her incredible years at East Midvale Elementary.

Charlotte has impacted generations of East Midvale families, and “Because I Knew You” was beautifully dedicated to her. If you knew Char, you knew she made a difference. 💛

Thank you for your countless years of dedication, love, and service to our school community. Her impact will continue for years to come as students learn and grow in the East Midvale garden dedicated in her honor — “Graham’s Garden.”

We wish you all the best in retirement, Char!

Congratulations to Charles Purdie! Charles was awarded the AAA Safety Patroller of the Year Award at this morning’s assembly. AAA Mountain West supports Safety Patrol programs in schools across 11 states, including East Midvale, making this recognition even more meaningful.

Charles was nominated with the support of Coach Chelsea and Ms. Gerrard, and he also submitted an essay as part of the selection process. He is one of only nine students in the Mountain West region to receive this award—and the only one in Utah!

In addition to this incredible honor, our school’s safety patrol program received $2,000 to support student leadership initiatives. We are so proud of Charles and the dedication of our entire school patrol!

We’re excited to celebrate our incredible school nurse, Amy Clegg, for receiving the Red Shoes Living Award! ❤️👟

Amy was recognized for her compassionate care and meaningful mentorship. Whether she’s helping a student feel better with something as simple as an ice pack, supporting daily health needs, or taking the time to truly connect, she shows up with warmth, patience, and intention in every interaction.

Her impact goes far beyond the health office, and we are so lucky to have her at East Midvale. Congratulations, Amy, and thank you for all that you do! 💛
