As North America prepares to host the FIFA World Cup, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has launched its five-day Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Increased travel can create opportunities for traffickers to exploit vulnerable individuals, making awareness and vigilance more important than ever. Drivers, carriers, law enforcement, and the public all play a role in recognizing the signs and helping prevent human trafficking.

CVSA’s Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative Is Underway Scheduled for June 1-5, this coordinated outreach effort aims to raise awareness about the crime of human trafficking, the warning signs to look for and what to do if human trafficking is suspected.

Federal ma*****na policy changes could create gaps in drug testing requirements for safety-sensitive positions like commercial drivers, airline pilots, train engineers, and school bus drivers.

That’s why the National Drug and Alcohol Screening Association (NDASA) joined lawmakers and safety advocates in Washington, D.C. to push for a critical “safety carve-out” that keeps strict testing standards in place for public transportation workers.

This isn’t about politics — it’s about public safety.

⚠️ DOT Compliance Update ⚠️

The U.S. Department of Justice recently reclassified state-licensed medical cannabis and FDA-approved ma*****na products from Schedule I to Schedule III.

However, the DOT’s Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy Compliance (ODAPC) has reaffirmed that ma*****na remains prohibited for DOT-regulated safety-sensitive employees. You can view that here: https://www.transportation.gov/odapc/may-2026-part-40-questions-and-answers

At this time:
✅ Ma*****na will still be included on DOT drug screens
✅ Recreational ma*****na remains outside of the reclassification
✅ There is still no acceptable medical explanation for a positive DOT ma*****na test result
