Duke was born “Sunsets Duke of Chocolate” on November 24, 2014. He was bred for breeding and faithfully fulfilled that role until his owner passed away. Duke’s true life, however, didn’t begin until he was five years old—when he finally learned what love, affection, and trust felt like.

Duke and Katy both struck gold when they met the Berry family. Linda and Lenny gave them a home filled with warmth, safety, and unconditional love. It was a place where bunnies were chased for fun, kitties were snuggled with affection, and joyful dances happened every time Mom or Dad walked through the door. For Duke, this was everything he had waited for.

On Wednesday afternoon, December 11, 2025, Duke was reunited with Katy at the Rainbow Bridge. He was surrounded by love, and his final vision was of his devoted adopters, Linda and Lenny—the people who showed him what family truly means.

Run free, sweet Duke. You were deeply loved, and you always will be.

The first photo shared is the very first picture I received of Duke. The last photo was taken just one night before he left us. Every photo in between tells the story of Duke and Katy, truly living their dash.

This is Lucy.
Lucy is a beautiful, sweet, loyal and loving, 6 year old shepherd who needs a home.
She is very social, good with kids and dogs. She still has plenty of energy and is well behaved indoors.
Lucy is well trained and fully vetted.

Would you please consider inviting Charity into your heart and your home? Even if on a temporary basis, so she can feel the warmth of a home instead of the cold lonely 4x6 space she’s living in at a boarding facility.
A Home for the Holidays is a big ask, and after 4 years in boarding I think it will take a miracle

Charity is ready for her miracle.

Finding a home for a bonded pair is the most challenging part of placing dogs. But for Charlie and Daisy, that wasn’t the case.
These two are so good, so well behaved, so social, so loving, and now, they’re so HOME!

Charlie and Daisy finally got their groom on today at All About Dogs.
They’re medically cleared, flea and heartworm free, freshly groomed, potty trained, and so full of love!

Meet Charlie (on the left), and Daisy (on the right).
Daisy was used for breeding, most likely for most of her life, Charlie is one of her offspring.
She is around 6, he is 1-2.
The pair was dumped off at a remote ranch when efforts to give them away at a gas station failed.
They’re bonded, Charlie is a bit codependent on mama.
They had a thorough vet check this week and were spayed and neutered. Both checked out healthy as can be.
As stated, bonded pair (which means we won’t separate) will be ready to meet potential adopters next week after they’ve had time to recover from their surgeries.
Their personalities are very sweet and they are very social.

For National Dog Day we are highlighting Charity!
Charity is a very healthy girl who weighs 45 lbs.
She is very well trained!
She loves her walks, she has an excellent heel, sit, stay and down.
Charity is a calm dog, nondestructive, very tidy, house and crate trained.
She is a very sweet dog, but antisocial. I’m sure you can understand when a dog has spent the first years of their life in a shelter/rescue they’re not comfortable around groups of people. When she is out in public at parks and stores she minds her own business and enjoys her outing.
She would be perfect for a single lady or an older couple. No kids.
She is 4 years old and has literally grown up in rescue. This girl has been overlooked for 4 years, she’s never had a home. Please help us find her one by sharing near and far!

Hello everyone, Charity here.
Just wanted to remind you all that I am still hoping to find a mom or dad, maybe even both. I’m 4 years old and healthy. I just finished some pretty extensive training and my trainer tells me I did a great job.
I don’t want to live with children because they make me nervous. I’m not a very social girl but I am sweet and loyal to my people. I like to play with big dogs and I love going for walks.

Transformation Tuesday!
Pearl is a 10 pound, 3-5 year old Maltese mix who was picked up off the streets horribly matted and filthy. Her finder had her groomed, well check and vaccines at the vet, she is great with their dogs and has done very well in their home.
She does seem to be nervous around husband, but otherwise she has been a great guest.
