WOW!! What a year Midland! 🤯

As the year is wrapping up to an end, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on all the great achievements we have had this year — it has been a year full of innovations and firsts! 🚀

New Partnerships: We brought some amazing partnerships to our community, fueling innovation, economic growth and countless opportunities this year!

New Website: In March we launched our new website, our new look brought easy access to so many aerospace resources, from new career opportunities to blogs highlighting some of the latest aerospace news in our community.

Starfighter's rolling through Wall St: In June we got to catch a glimpse of the Starfighter fighter jets as they rolled through Wall Street — just one of our many opportunities to witness innovation in motion.

IREC 2025: In June we welcomed over 2,000 students from all over the world here in Midland for the 2025 IREC Competition — our first year hosting a global competition in our community!

Vertical Launch Grant Award: In August we were awarded a $5M grant fueling the development of our very own launch site here in Midland — an exciting opportunity to fuel aerospace innovations here in our community!

Spotlight in National Geographic: In September we were mentioned in National Geographic for our innovative simulation allowing lunar testing and developments here in Midland — that's right just one of the many ways the future of aerospace is being built in Midland!

Antonov Cargo Plane comes to Midland: In October we had one of the largest cargo planes in the world touch down here in Midland to transport AST satellites to their launch sites — another amazing opportunity to witness innovation in motion for our community!

All of these wonderful achievements would not of be possible without the amazing work the Midland Development Corporation does for our community — huge shoutout to the MDC and all the awesome work they do to bring innovations and opportunities to our community!

Many aerospace composites were originally developed from petroleum byproducts (like the Windecker Eagle), and over 80% of aerospace manufacturing materials come from the same chemical processes used in Oil & Gas — a key reason why engineers can transition into aerospace and be trained in half the time!

Midland is also home to nearly 2x the national average of engineers per capita, and with some of the least congested airspace in Texas, we're an ideal site for testing aircrafts & spacecrafts! 🚀
