Do you have a few hours to spare? We would love for you to join our team of volunteers and help make a difference for seniors in our community! Choose the day that works best for you and come be part of something meaningful:

🍽️ Kitchen Volunteer
8:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Help prepare and package meals for our homebound seniors.

🚗 Meals On Wheels Delivery
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Deliver a warm meal, a friendly smile, and a little extra hope to seniors who look forward to your visit.

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Help us sort, organize, and prepare for one of our biggest fundraisers of the year!
We are looking for individuals, organizations, companies, and groups who enjoy spending time together while giving back.

The Texas heat is here, and we need your help to make sure our elderly neighbors stay cool and comfortable this summer! 💙 Senior Life Midland is collecting 150 fans for our Meals On Wheels clients who are vulnerable to the heat and need a little extra help staying cool in their homes. A simple fan can make a big difference for an older adult trying to beat the West Texa Summer Heat.
We need YOUR help to get there! 🙌
Donate a new fan and help bring comfort to a senior neighbor. Every fan makes an impact! Preferred Fans include:
• 28-in 3-speed, Indoor Oscillating, Tower Fan
• 16-in 3-speed, Indoor Oscillating, Pedestal Fan

💜 Stand Up Against Elder Abuse — Awareness Matters 💜
Today, Senior Life Midland staff wore purple to recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day! We are dedicated to raising awareness, protecting our seniors, and reminding our community that every older adult deserves to live with dignity, respect, and safety.
Elder abuse can happen in many forms, and knowing the signs can help protect those who may be vulnerable.
🚨 Signs of Abuse may include:
• Unexplained scratches, cuts, bruises, burns, broken bones, or bedsores
• Physical restraint or confinement
• Sexual abuse or misconduct
• Verbal, emotional, or psychological abuse
💔 Signs of Neglect may include:
• Malnutrition, dehydration, or unexplained weight loss
• Over- or under-medication
• Unsafe or unsanitary living conditions
• Lack of personal hygiene
• No access to basic needs such as heat, running water, electricity, or medical care
⚠️ Signs of Exploitation may include:
• Missing money, property, or personal belongings
• Misuse of Social Security or SSI benefits
• Unauthorized use of bank accounts or financial resources
• Taking advantage of an older adult for personal or financial gain

Many older adults and individuals with disabilities may become isolated, ill, or unable to meet their own basic needs without support. A simple conversation, a caring check-in, or reporting a concern to the right authorities can make a life-changing difference.
At Senior Life Midland, we believe every senior deserves to age with dignity, independence, and compassion. 💜
If you suspect abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an older adult or person with a disability, speak up. Your voice can help protect someone who needs it. Call Adult Protective Services at 1-800-252-5400.
