Super excited the new Bass Pro Shops is open in Odessa, TX. Let’s talk about getting Adventure Well meals in there! We are right down the road.

Sometimes, we all just need a break from the day-to-day.
Lately, we really needed one—but like most families, we also have responsibilities that can’t just pause. So, we found the perfect solution: a quick camper day trip!

Thanks to some great friends who recommended Hords Creek (just a few hours away), we packed up and spent the day fishing, relaxing, taking long walks, sitting around the fire reading Chasing All Ten by our pastor Jason, making s’mores, and playing games. It was exactly what we needed to reset. We came back home refreshed and grateful.

He is Risen!

This week, our older boys had the opportunity to dig deep and research the evidence for the resurrection. They each wrote a paper exploring powerful truths — the empty tomb, the eyewitness accounts, the radical transformation of lives, and even the admissions of those who opposed Jesus.

It was meaningful, humbling, and such a blessing to learn alongside them. What a gift to not just celebrate Easter, but to understand why it changes everything.

Today, we pause to reflect on the impact of the resurrection — that death was defeated, hope is alive, and Jesus reigns.

On our trip to Garner State Park, we hiked the challenging trail up to Crystal Cave—a natural wonder nestled in the Texas Hill Country. The trail, known for its steep and rocky terrain, rewards hikers with stunning views and the sparkling allure of the cave itself .
But just before entering the cave, we encountered a dense cluster of daddy long leg spiders, all huddled together and vibrating in unison. To reach the cave’s interior, we had to pass right under this pulsating mass.

So, what’s the deal with these vibrating spiders?

Daddy long legs When threatened, they rapidly gyrate their bodies in a circular motion, creating a blurring effect that makes them harder to see. This behavior serves as a defense mechanism to deter predators.

Would you have the nerve to walk past them and explore the cave?

Nestled in the hills of Palo Pinto County, Possum Kingdom State Park is a Texas gem with crystal-clear water, rugged cliffs, and plenty of adventure for the whole crew. One of our favorite spots to travel for a quick weekend trip!

Favorite things to do:

• Hike the scenic Lakeview Trail (killer views!)

• Swim, boat, or kayak on the deep blue waters

• Fish from the shore or pier — bass lovers, this spot’s for you

• Cliff jump at Hells Gate(safely) or kayak along the bluffs

• Got an RV? Great! You can add a tent to each RV site, so invite some tent-loving friends and make it a full-on camping party!

And of course, our Adventure Well Freeze-Dried Meals make it easy to eat well while you explore — no cooler, no stress. Just hot water, and boom — comfort food in the wild.
