I recently stopped by a “bed build” at Lowe’s on Rt. 85. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is the organization that does an amazingly amount of good for this county by building beds and providing bedding for children and families in need. “No one sleeps on the floor” is the phrase used by these good hearted people doing great things in this community.

The Sheriff on Data Centers:

Data Centers may be THE issue in this year’s county-wide election. You may not think this is in my lane, but it absolutely is and you should know where I stand.

As an individual and life-long county native, it is a serious quality of life issue that has clearly impacted the Adamstown/Buckeystown and devastated local daily life. I signed the petition against the data center expansion because it will have an even broader impact on Adamstown and the Ballenger area.

As your Sheriff, and the one elected official that does care the most about our county, I’ve listened closely to your concerns, attending every community meeting. I have been accessible, available, and personally responsive to the residents of Adamstown in addressing and trying to mitigate the impact of the data center project.

Heavy truck traffic, traffic volume and speed, oversized loads, employee buses routes, and noise complaints have been daily issues of concern in Adamstown.

I’ve worked effectively to address problems and complaints on an almost daily basis. I was able to work closely with the project developers and get them to cover the daily extra-duty/ overtime costs for deputies to handle the traffic enforcement in that area. That cost has been enormous.

The most important thing is that I have listened to you, the residents. My efforts to ease the impact of the data centers for you, goes full circle to my mission as Sheriff and to me personally. That mission is to keep Frederick County safe and maintain the quality of life we know in Frederick. My goal is to keep this county “the land of pleasant living” for everyone. 🇺🇸

The League of Women Voters of Frederick invited myself and my opponent to participate in a forum for the Sheriff race. I was notified today that my opponent declined.

He only continues his personal attacks from behind the keyboard. I am throwing out the challenge for him to walk into the public arena with me and go head to head in a true debate in any location before any audience. He can even have the questions ahead so he can read his scripted answers!
