Developmental milestones help in understanding the progress of children. These are a set of functional skills that can be doable at a certain age range. Every child is unique, so these milestones may vary. These skills can start even from the first month, such as the child making jerky movements. On their 6th month, familiarization with people and making squealing noises as their way of communication is an indication of healthy progress. Their first year may look like being able to get into sitting position and/or assumption of hands-and-knees position.
