What Sammy survived is difficult to put into words.
She suffered a brain bleed, a C1 fracture in her neck, multiple fractures to her face and jaw, a fractured hip socket, a severely broken right ankle requiring rods, three broken ribs, and a serious abdominal injury that required surgical repair and stitches. The trauma was extensive and life-threatening, and she required urgent, intensive medical care to stabilize her condition.
At one point, her injuries were so severe that she was unresponsive and doctors worked tirelessly to bring her back—more than once—before she was ultimately stabilized.
Her condition was classified as critical polytrauma, meaning she suffered multiple severe, life-threatening injuries across several parts of her body at the same time.
There is still a long road ahead, but Sammy continues to fight every single day with incredible strength and determination—and we are beyond grateful she is still here with us.
If you’ve been wondering how you can help, this is your chance.
Please join us for Sammy’s Fundraiser at The Switch Inn on Saturday, June 13th, beginning at 3:00 PM. Admission is $20 at the door. We’ll have free food and free draft beer from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, a 50/50 raffle, wristbands for sale, and raffle prizes including a beautiful charcuterie board valued at $150 generously donated by Pretty Eats by Jennifer, along with a golf bag, a cooler, and a basket of liquor.
Sammy survived the unthinkable. Now she faces a long road to recovery—but she is still here, and she is not alone.
