Middleton Firefighters Local 3097

Last night, Middleton Engine 2 (Group 2 on duty) assisted the North Reading Fire Department at the scene of a second-alarm structure fire.

Local 3097 would like to extend our sincere thoughts and condolences to the family, friends, and members of the Boston Fire Department on the loss of Robert Kilduff Jr., who was killed in the line of duty last night.

Local 3097 would like to extend our thoughts and condolences to the family, friends, and members of the Massachusetts State Police on the loss of Trooper Kevin Trainor, who was killed in the line of duty this morning.

Local 3097 wishes to congratulate FF Sampson and FF Smith on their recent graduation from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Career/Recruit class 336. We wish them both a long, successful, and healthy career!

Local 3097 will be taking orders for 2025 breast cancer awareness t-shirts and hoodies. Proceeds will be donated to charity.

We’d like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Firefighter Callahan during this difficult time.

The Chief of Department regrets to announce the Line of Duty Death (Cancer) of Firefighter Matthew T. Callahan.

Firefighter Callahan was appointed to the Watertown Fire Department on October 22, 2017. He died on August 20, 2025.

The department mourns his passing.
